What I took from it is that more and more young people are walking away from the racist and right wing beliefs of their parents and parent's parents.

They're walking their own way and under their own power. Understanding that under the skin, we're all alike.

Basically, wingers are becoming more and more of an endangered species, even in their southern strongholds.

It's only a matter of time. folks.

That show showed that the light at the end of a tunnel is not a train.

4. It's going to be a tough transition

To understand why, look at just how far and how fast the fall of the far right has been. From the impeachment to their utter disgrace was only a decade. From Rove crowing about a permanent GOP majority to their marginalization as a party of utter lunatics has been only half a dozen years. From the heady days of government by K Street, where no Democrats need apply and the purge of Democrats from agencies like the CIA, it's only been about five years.

That's awfully rapid change for people who are phobic about change, itself.

This is going to turn more violent before it gets any better. We never know when or where some crazy is going to flip out and start firing his guns. Yesterday it was a health club. It could be just about anywhere today or tomorrow.

If we are very lucky, the culture in law enforcement will change and the country as a whole will finally realize the greatest threat to democracy is always from the far right.

All disasters present opportunity. Let's just hope this unfolding disaster of right wingers acting out violently is short lived.
