Freepers would rather be "angry" than admit they bought all that BS for the last 12+ years
It's starting to make sense to me. When you and I were saying "yup, this war was started on a lie" "yup, they are lying about Al Gore, they are lying about Kerry, they are lying about global warming, they are lying about how much oil reserves we have left,..."

These people were just eating it up and believing EVERY SINGLE WORD. (they were taught to have faith, after all!)
... and, sniff, gasp, it isn't all true? It's much easier to redirect all that anger at "THE ENEMY" ie, we, most of the people; democrats..

Thinking that things were going to get better after the election, many of us sighed in relief, let our guards down, and looked forward to the new presidency. But the GOP fringe was suddenly left out in the cold. My goodness, their darling Sarah RESIGNED!
That beautiful answer to their prayers candidate appeared to be having trouble just being a HOUSEWIFE! (could it be true?)

So what was left? FEAR. BIG fear - easily transformed into any anger that their talking heads (names will not be mentioned because i can't stand to see them in print) wanted to fan at them. And these fat white men (sorry, but it fits) did and will continue to fan. THEY LOVE IT. It earns THEM money. And these poor freep morons, what do they have left? Their anger. All the things they have lost in the last few administrations and IGNORED while * was still president, they are hurting from. So now they have the perfect outlet for this anger and fear and resentment.

I personally did not realize how bad it was until someone I know who I believed was rational forwarded me an email from a friend of his about health care; who referred to the President as a devil. I wrote back to my friend; i told him, I know you didn't write this, but I cannot continue this conversation, this is not rational discourse. And sadly, I wrote him off.

I read the article in Esquire (When did Americans become raving lunatics?) and found it amusing that some of the things I thought about the GOP party
are the same things the Lunatic Fringe Freeps are saying about the democratic party.

I guess unfortunately the only answer to this completely creepy situation will be that the law will crack down on these whack jobs and make it less fun for them to carry on like the big crying babies that they are.

1. juvenile - they truly are juvenile
I find it hilarious when one of the gop lawmakers or TV hosts "demands" an apology for some Dem transgression.

"You say you're sorry right now".

How middle-school-ish.

Or as they mimic rush's talking points. Not a twit of original thought . . . or even an objective analysis of his lies. I think the perfect example was rush blaming Clinton for the increased shark attacks off the Florida coast a few years back. His audience actually believed that. The more outrageous the lie - the more they want to believe it. "All you seniors get ready. You need to meet with your end-of--life counselors to prepare for the end."

6. i was thankful my 45yo sister had hospice care
under her insurance plan. the hospice care was the only relief she had as she was dying of cancer. anyone who believes end of life counseling is about offing granny has never experienced the serious illness and death of a loved one.

3. Great post. And Yoda's words are appropriate here...
"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
