Being backed to the wall gives the Dems only 1 option - DELIVER A GOOD BILL or become toast.
If the House, the Senate and the Pres cannot get their act together to deliver a bill with meaningful, actual reform for the millions of Americans who voted for them and gave them their majorities, then they will be signing their own death notice as a party.

The Republicans will see a resurgence as the minority party who prevailed and more morons will jump ship just because everyone loves a winner and the the Dems and all their leaders will be perceived as weak "losers" by almost all sides of the debate. Disillusioned "change" voters will sit out the next round a la 94 in chagrin and disgust.

But there IS a way out of this debacle for the Dems and it is a very simple one. Go back there, do your jobs and write a bill that will: cover the uninsured, offer a public option, and reform IMMEDIATELY the policies causing the most harm and pain to American families - rescission and prior condition exclusion.

No one eating in the dining room really cares if, behind the scenes, the kitchen is covered with broken eggs and 4 chefs have quit. The messiness of the process will be overlooked if the end result is good.

2. Yes, pass a good bill...
...or prove that giving you a majority wasn't worth the effort.

4. True - what was the whole point of obtaining the majority
if all you do with it is kowtow to the minority?
