Peoploe were trapped on an Express Jet, on the runway all night! |
|
They were 50 yards from the terminal but not allowed off the plane! The reason...the flight crew had reached their max allowable flying hours!
Contessa Brewer just had one of the passengers on the phone. He said everybody remained calm, but Contessa said if she had been on that flight, there would have been HELL TO PAY. I agree wiwth her!!!
Express Jet is owned by Continental. They flew a crew in from Rochester the next morning, and the only bathroom on board didn't work either.
I guarantee you I never have flown on Continental, and never will!

1. Must be something wrong with the State of NY |
|
I'm assuming airports are paid for out of State funds. A few years ago I landed at Buffalo airport on a scheduled flight late at night. The terminal was in almost complete darkness. All vending machines were turned off so I couldn't get a drink. All parking lighting was turned off so I had a hell of a time finding my way to the taxi stand and the incoming taxi (pre-ordered) had a hell of time finding me.

5. Man, I would have went nuts - I don't deal well being trapped. |
|
Especially in a SMALL jet like this one. This was no full sized four bathroom having jet. This was a forty seater with ONE bathroom. No water. No food. TWO crying babies. No Nuthin' NINE HOURS.
I'm not sure I could have handled that. Especially since they were 50 yards from the terminal.

7. I couldn't have either. I haven't ever gotten a good explaination |
|
to why once a plane leaves the terminal they won't let the passengers off, no matter how long the plane has to sit there. It's some FAA regulation, but it makes no sense to me.

9. Why don't false imprisonment laws apply? |

Aren't "airline regulations" regulated?
