I don't have time to delve into it but need to refute someone.

1. "9.1 million were only temporarily uninsured"
On this one point, those are people who, once they get insurance again, are replaced with new uninsured people.

The individuals in that group may cycle in and out, but the group does not disappear and should not be discounted.

I don't have time right now to review the rest.

2. It's off by a factor of 10 as I recall
A study that came out two or three years ago said that 91 million people were uninsured for at least part of the year due to job change.

3. He makes it sound like these are two seperate ideas
Making health care and insurance more affordable is the No. 1 health issue; that's twice as much as the second priority, which is expanding coverage for the uninsured.

Well yeah most Americans have health insurance now. Is it a shock their #1 priority is to themselves to fix the system they have, and then expand that system to cover everyone. There not separate ideas but are indeed very linked. It's funny he thinks all those people making 84 K a year "choose" not to have health insurance.

4. Here's the report the writer cited.
http://www.nihcm.org/pdf/NIHCM-Uninsured-Final.pdf

And here is a document pointing out what this means.
http://www.nchc.org/facts/coverage.shtml

Studies estimate that the number of excess deaths among uninsured adults age 25-64 is in the range of 22,000 a year. This mortality figure is more than the number of deaths from diabetes (17,500) within the same age group.8
