It truly doesn't matter what the wingnuts say about our beloved Ted
We know better.

We know that this man of privilege fought for the working people of this country. We know he fought for the poor and the marginalized. We know his legacy is firmly cemented in the reality of the causes he championed.

We know the differences for the better he made in millions of lives. We know his indomitable spirit. We know his acts of kindness writ large and small.

The ugly venom from the wingnuts isn't relevant and it can't take away from his life and works.

Rest in peace, dear Senator.

1. Agree. In Kennedy we honor the good, and there is a whole hell of a lot of it.

4. Nothing they can say can diminish his greatness
Nothing can change his legacy.

Ted Kennedy - a great American, a great senator and a great human being.

5. They're just jealous because no matter how much they tout Reagan
as the greatest thing since sliced (white) bread, he was no Ted Kennedy. They have absolutely no one in their party who could even begin to carry Kennedy's cane, much less live up to what he's done for this nation.

6. And the irony is...
he worked for the rights of some of the very people who will demonize him in the coming days.

It's to be expected, I suppose. Stupid people saying stupid things. The world is full of them. We can only try to ignore them and pity them for their stupidity.

I knew it was coming, but that doesn't make it any easier. :(

14. Ted was like our John Stuart Mill
Well-born, but fought for his lessers and against his wealthy peers.

I was shocked to see him getting respect on a conservative board I used to debate on. Those cons all but threatened the ultimate against Gore and Kerry. But a mod pinned a thread that demands he get respect or they'd be gone!

15. I feel sorry for Republicans. If they don't see that Ted Kennedy
was a hero to the little guys, then they don't have any heroes at all. They only have Reagan and Reagan probably even saw Teddy as a hero. They need to reach deep in their soul and ask themselves "who is a hero to me".
