I despise you Bay Area Liberals
But I just can't figure out if it's because I wish I lived in your weather or your political environment.

Sheer heaven. I don't live in the City anymore but have the best recipe for Cioppino! My dad got it from a North Beach Italian fisherman, about 100 years ago. It's a family tradition on Christmas Eve. Yum!

42. Good choice...
I chose to move from Haight & Broderick to Clement Street, then the Ingleside District, then Sacramento Street about three hills up from downtown, and finally to Bolinas out in Marin County. I can't believe I moved around so much in those days -- all of that over a period of about 16 months. !

3. ha! it's not ALL peace, freedom, suntans and health care for all here!
this past weekend was pretty nice though.

I live in a more conservative part of the Bay Area than San Francisco is. My Obama bumpersticker was painted over with obscene language and there seems to be a more $$ hungry attitude.

I realize that it is better than a lot of areas but do get surprised when I read some of the stories on DU.

If it makes you feel better, San Francisco is cool and windy today. ;)

22. Come see us next month! End of Sept and Oct are sooo awesome here.
Geez, even the Blue Angels make sure they're here for Fleet Week every October, because they know how amazing our weather is. I make it a point to cycle across the bridge, stop at the south Tower, and just thank the random coincidences that dropped me into this slice of paradise.

And yeah, I don't own a house or a condo, cuz I can't afford to buy in the place I love. But the trade-off is worth it, I think.

Me, last year. Check out the azure water--no photoshopping, I promise!

32. Bay Area weather
SUCKS bugs time. I took a promotion up here from Los Angeles a little over a year ago. If I knew how bad the weather was, I would have kept my warm weather loving ass back down in Pasadena.

As far as the liberal part goes, well, I live right near Berkeley and we all know that it is one of the most left wing parts of the country. However, I work with a lot of native Bay area people, and while the ones I know are mostly democrats, I don't find them any more liberal than your average democratic voter. Case in point, I work in 12 person unit. 3 of them voted yes on Prop 8, 4 of us are former (and pro)military, and all of us, are pretty much not big fan of unions.

But yes, Berkeley is ver liberal.

47. It depends where/when.
The fog gets sucked in through the Golden Gate when the inland heats up (so summers are foggy in San Francisco). The fog gets trapped by the hills, so on the other side of the hills (East Bay, South Bay. parts of the Peninsula and Marin County, etc.) it can be very hot when Oakland-San Francisco are foggy and cool. In the winter the Central Valley often gets foggy while San Francisco is clear. The Bay Area has amazing, complicated weather/geography depending upon interaction of ocean, Bay, Delta, hills, mountains and valleys.
