7. I thinnk the non-aggression treaty was a good thing, yes.
The UK, through its actions at Munich, made clear that it was pushing Germany to attack the Soviet Union and would not join an anti-German alliance. Czechoslovakia, which had an alliance with the Soviets, was betrayed completely. So what was the Soviet Union to do? They counter-moved, and turned the Germans westward instead. The UK invited this with its pro-fascist actions at Munich.

Occupying part of Poland was a necessary move to form a cordon against Germany as well as to protect Poles, including hundreds of thousands of Jews, from fascism.
