1. What a great image!
It really shows the scope of this fire...

Horrendous.

14. I got yelled at yesterday for saying there were several fires.
Felt like the Beaver.

6. "Look, I can see my house burn from here!"
Had to be said.

And in space, no one can hear you scream.

7. Colorado has just issued a smoke advisory for NW CO.
I'm about 30 miles from the foothills here in Denver and I can barely see the mountains for the haze brought on by the fires. :( I worry about my friends in LA.

9. The moon was orange all night last night, not just on rising.
The haze obscures the mountains. My first thought was that there was a forest fire locally. But I checked & there isn't.

12. I checked out your homepage in your profile.
Cute critters! Your calico is gorgeous!

Is that a catahoula? We got our catahoula from the pound 3.5 years ago. I have loved all my dogs, but this one has captured my heart like no other!

15. Alas! The calico passed away about 3 years ago.
She was insane. I know most calicos are insane, but she was rescued from a kitten mill and I really do think she was grossly inbred. :(

Are you talking about the spotted dog? That was my friend's dog, and she was a German Shorthair Pointer. She's passed on now, too, but what a wonderful, sweet and loving dog she was! My current (and only) fur kid is Bear, a chocolate lab/German shepherd mix. By far and away the most loyal, loveable and well-behaved dog I have ever known. :)

16. Oh, Bear is beautiful!
I don't see the German Sheperd, but he is lovely!

I had a semi-skitzoid calico many years ago. I loved her dearly, but I never knew which personality I was going to encounter!

I beleive the type of coat your firend's dog had is called blue merle. I think it's a very stunning look.

:hi:
