Lefty Groups Raise $60,000 — In One Day — For Ad Attacking Grassley
Source: The Plum Line Who Runs Gov

Here’s the latest sign that the public option, and the specter of GOP obstructionism, remain powerful motivators of the liberal base:

Two progressive groups have raised nearly $60,000 in less than 24 hours for a new ad attacking Chuck Grassley for opposing the public option.

The groups, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and Democracy For America, pulled in $59,747 since their anti-Grassley ad went up yesterday, via their fundraising pitch on the Dem fundraising clearinghouse Act Blue.

Next step is to groom a good liberal to run against Grassley the next time he's up for re-election.

2. 2010
Supposedly one reason Grassley is acting like a moron is he wants to avoid a primary from the right in 2010.

3. Iowa has Gay marriage, and voted for Obama... Grassley is so
over, in Iowa! No one there wants him around anymore.

There might even be a recall petition from Iowa voters in the next month or two.

4. Haven't heard anything about a recall
But there is a lot od dissatisfaction with him. Unfortunately, they love him in the western part of the state. Think Steve King.

9. Western Iowa is part of Nebraska, really
and those people are few and far between, compared to the numbers of folks living along the Mississippi River towns, DesMoines, Ames, etc...the only western Iowa liberals live in NW Iowa, Sioux City and North, identify with Minn and SD.

10. Well, if Grassley keeps lying on national Tee Vee, about healthcare or
about Obama, or about a million other things he lies and mis-states.....he's done.

Iowa has found out Grassley is a snake in the grass, when it comes to serving the interest of Iowans.

11. I live in Iowa
So I have an idea what's going on with ol' "I mow my own lawn" Grassley. And as of now, there are two declared candidates running against him in '10, but there are rumors around about a heavyweight or two running against him. I don't like rumors so I won't say who just yet.

14. I don't care anymore. If they are going to vote against the Democratic platform, they should run as
Republicans, instead of trying to have it both ways.

I'd rather lose to a Republican than lose to a Democrat. At least that way, everyone knows what's what. My son and I celebrated the Democratic takeover of Congress in 2006 for hours, with cross-continental calls in which we cheered as each seat was called for a Democrat. To do that, I had to stay up really late as I am the East Coaster. I feel so duped. I never want to do that for a Purple Wolf again.

I am sick of the Purple Snakes.

I refuse to dignify them by calling them Blue and too many people adore Dogs. Let's call them what they are Purple Snakes--as in "snake in the grass" or Purple Wolves--as in "wolf in sheep's clothing" or something like that. (Can't call them purple dinos bc Barney is too well loved by kids.) Purple Hyenas? Purple Buzzards? Purple Cannibals?

Well, you all get the idea. Be creative!

15. Only when the people start making meaningful contributions of BOTH money and time will we
start to compete with K Street. AND when we stop acting like sheeple.

Bottom line: Elected officials need votes to be re-elected and corporations cannot vote. (However, if we stay apathetic, that, too, may change.)

WAKE UP, AMERICANS!
