Bernie Madoff's Sons
Is it at all possible that Bernie Madoff's sons really did not know what their father was doing? I just do not believe the sons did not know what their father was doing. I can believe his wife did not know what he was doing because she was not a part of the business. However, his sons were a part of the business. They were the heads of the trading operation. I may have gotten the wrong information, but from what I heard on the news Madoff's company never actually made any trades. If the sons were over the trade operation how could they not know something was wrong if trades were not being made. In my opinion, the sons were in on the whole thing. When things started to go bad and people began to ask for their money Bernie Madoff know the game was over. At that point he told his sons there was no reason for all three of them to go down so he would take the fall and let his sons get away.

2. There is still hell to pay for the sons.
Did you see the CBS news tonight?
They featured one of the sons who purchased a house in Nantucket last year for $6.6 M cash.
Seems that good ol Dad withdrew that amount from one of his accounts just before this transaction.
And then there's the brother of Bernie - the chief of compliance was his title!
He should be in jail also.

5. Before you get too far you might want to read all of the Vanity Fair articles.
As for the wife, VF pretty much concluded that she likely knew the score. The boys - not so much. They ran a completely different division of the company.

Before you ask for a link - I actually receive the magazine and hold it in my hands to read it. However, I think you will likely find the articles online.

7. The reason Bernie had his sons turn him in
was so that they could keep their share of his ill-gotten gains. It would please me if the whole fucking Madoff family was in the same soup kitchen lines as the hard-core unemployed are in today.
