Watching Ridge and Maddow for the first time, somebody has gotten to him
Edited on Tue Sep-01-09 10:15 PM by Botany
Ridge is nervous as hell and using lawyer talk to try to say that what he wrote in the
book isn't what was written in the book.

I might be nuttier than a squirrel turd but it sure seems that somebody has gotten to him.

Cheney could have "walled" him but the bruises would show up on TV.

23. Just like any other former Bush official out to make some bucks on the book market
Edited on Wed Sep-02-09 08:29 AM by Mike Daniels
1. During the pre-book release window start revealing a bunch of stuff that supposedly happened but which you didn't have the guts to expose when you were in a position to do something about it.

2. Start backpedaling when you start to do TV appearances because what's actually in the book doesn't match up with what you were spewing a few days earlier.

9. I thought Rachel was holding back tears during clip of Katrina
I wish she had hit him harder on Katrina.. We failed the people in new orleans.
Our government refused to fail the people in the gulf coast. The could have been and should have been helped. AT the very least our government should have been dropping in water, food, medicine.

It was painful to watch then and still painful to watch now, except now it includes guilt of not taking over congress member's offices to force them to take action to help those people.

PBS should be playing "Trouble the Waters" over and over again.

13. He dropped two of the biggest lies about Katrina
1) The buses ... if all those school buses that were scene in the pictures were used lots of people could have gotten out of
New Orleans ..... bald faced lie (Sean Hannity loves the bus story)

a) many of the school buses were not running

b) many of the bus drivers had fled the city

c) the water was blocking the roads for the buses

2) On Saturday before the storm the Governor of New Orleans had signed a state of emergency order after that it was a federal
problem .... the storm hit sunday night ... the levies were breached monday morning.

20. the bus story makes me madder than all the other lies
even if the buses could have been used. where would they have gone? other cities made it plain that refugees from the storm were not welcomed. Some had armed guards to repel the refugees. The mayor of NO had no authority to make the other cities take NO residents

11. I'd like to K&R several parts of that post.
Ridge almost seemed innocent, although nuttier than a squirrel turd, when they followed up with Simon Bar Sinister Bernie Kerik. Those who employed them aren't We the People - they're the warmongering, war criminals and traitors who still pull the levers of War Inc.

22. No question about it!
One of the more amusing moments for me was the reference to the book jacket, which Ridge immediately shook off as "not my words".
Are you kidding me??
This is YOUR book!! You don't know what is on your own jacket??
We should let the fact that Ms. Maddow is one of the very best in the business at her craft get away from this discussion.
I loved her close - "this is why I am so grateful for this show!"
Truly an amazing, Godsend, of a person - Rachel.

25. "not my words"
Edited on Wed Sep-02-09 08:50 AM by Botany
most of the time publishers put other people works in the dust jackets of books ..... really they do :sarcasm:

When publishers do put other peoples words in or on the dust jacket they alway credit the person i.e.

A damn fine read Dr. H. G. Smartguy

I couldn't put it down Norah O'Donnel

Please what a line of crap ...... "not my words" :puke:

BTW When Ridge took credit for the Coast Guard's response to Katrina I wanted to vomit. The Commandeer of the Coast Guard said he
and his forces acted independently and had no orders from the White House or Homeland Security.
