Glenn Beck to be Given Key to City

This was on the local news last night. The mayor of Glenn Beck's home town, Mt. Vernon, Washington (about an hour north of we Seattleites) has decided to give him the key to the city. Needless to say, there is controversy, and a protest planned for September 26th, the day he is scheduled to go there to receive the...choking on the word here...honor. If you're anywhere in the area, like, let's say, the U.S., Canada or the planet, I'd advocate pitching a fit. This strikes me as a shocking validation of the man's insane fomentings.

Many there who are of legal age have slept together.....they are a community that worships God on Sunday and then live like the devil the rest of the week....Skagit County has been called Mini Deliverance.

Seattle, Bellingham, Port Townsend, parts of Olympia are liberal, but wow, quite a bit of WA State is conservative. (I live on the Olympic Peninsula and it's a strange mix of scary backwoods survivalists and idealistic liberals)

I was probably trying to breathe, clawing the furniture, etc. I'm better now. And you're right about WA being largely conservative. Having come from the deeeeeep South where it's literally run up a flagpole, I sometimes forget how shockingly alarmist and insular much of the rest of the country can be.

No doubt the city officials think they don't make up enough of the electorate to be considered.

He has started so many ****storms since he was elected mayor of Mount Vernon. Even the mayor of Burlington hates him. I lived in the Skagit Valley for six years and was happy the day we closed on selling our house and got the hell out of Dodge!

a few years before he was elected mayor of Mount Vernon. MV is supposed to be the liberal twon in the Skagit so it amazes me that this whack job was ever elected.

20. Beck calls Americans 'lazy'.

In Tuesday night’s installment of “The Glenn Beck Show,” the controversial entertainer said that Americans who refuse to toil away in agricultural fields sprayed with pesticides for pennies on the dollar are “lazy.” He also said that immigrants working in those same fields do not deserve Civil Rights or respect from Americans.
