Didn't Dick Cheney interview everybody on that short list to understand where there might be problems with them as a candidate for Veep?

Isn't it interesting that Ridge came out talking about the poltiicizing of DHS alerts before the 2004 election in his book, and has been backpedaling on that ever since Cheney reared his head again?

Just some things that make you go "hmmmmmmmmmm?"

Quite a few Pub consultants were pushing Ridge because he was a fairly popular Pa. Gov. but somebody said "We need a woman because of Hillary's popularity.
