We Are Finally Reaching a Tipping Point in Afghanistan
The majority of Americans no longer support the Afghanistan War. Anti-war groups are planning a fall campaign against the war. In our deadliest year, it is worsening each month. 8 years we've been there. We are told to give it another 12-18 months just to regain lost ground. Then, how long after that? The only war that lasted longer was Vietnam, and I think we are making a go at that record.

Thankfully, a tipping point nearing. Since violence is down in Iraq and troops are ostensibly leaving, starting this winter, focus can turn to Afghanistan. Get ready for a push to end the war and bring all of our troops out of combat.

3. i'm giving it until winter - and so is Obama
he gave the military this summer to prove progress CAN be made there. & i'd like to see what effect cash payments simliar to those we finally wised up and used in iraq have on the underemployed, disaffected male populace.

and violence ISN'T down in iraq - violence involving american troops is. there are still plenty of horrific bombings.
