Teabaggers "NOTE TO OBAMA : LEAVE OUR KIDS ALONE !!!!"
Edited on Wed Sep-02-09 11:15 AM by kpete
Word is traveling fast on the internet, between bloggers and twitter, the choice is clear : No school for kids on September 8th due to the beginning of Socialist Indoctrination of Americas children.

Keep your kids home September 8th

2009 September 1

by DanaLoesch

Take a day of vacation. Go to the zoo. Anything that would save your offspring from what I will bluntly say is just the quasi-fellating the executive branch. That cackling over a bubbling cauldron you hear is the NEA rejoicing.

President Obama’s Address to Students Across America September 8, 2009

I wouldn’t have such a problem with the Department of Education were this presented in a non-Orwellian fashion. Oh yes, it is, as the lesson plan directs, to listen to what t he president, the mayor, et al. says, to respect their "authoritah" </Cartman>, but there is no emphasis in here on why the president and other elected officials should listen to US. The focus is solely on authority. There is no consideration given to the authority of the American people. That’s what concerns me.

There is this mindset that those in Washington are the "elite," that we should mind our Ps and Qs and blindly follow their directives. That’s not the manner of governance upon which this country was founded – it is quite the opposite; even the hobbyist Constitutional aficionado appreciates this.

So yes, keep your kids home on September 8th and teach them that the power of America rests in the hands of its people, no one else.

NOTE TO OBAMA :

LEAVE OUR KIDS ALONE !!!!

6. I kind of wish they would....

it would solve the overcrowding issue.

I actually am VERY interested to see what happens at my daughter's public high school. There are way too many wingnuts in this NC school district teaching.

For example, an award-winning (teacher of the year for many years amongst other awards, most beloved ENGLISH teacher was the only one to mention Ted Kennedy's passing.

Actually, she never did mention that he passed; she simply brought up an interesting historical tidbit called Chappaquiddick.

I was so friggin pissed........... When this semester is over and my daughter is free of her, she's getting a piece of my mind.

21. seriously -
a lot of liberals homeschool as well. There's a DU forum just for hs'ers.

Not all conservatives are hs'ers, not all hs'ers are idiots.

In fact, think about the number of school-board-run-public schools that are conservative to the extreme (can you say "evolution taught as a theory" alongside "intelligent design"? )

Don't knock all homeschoolers. Some of our greatest thinkers were homeschooled.

Edited on Wed Sep-02-09 12:12 PM by WeDidIt
Teabagging mouthbreathers homeschool, too.

The point being, how do you keep a homeschooled kid home from public school, they're already there.

And my original post in no way knocked all homeschoolers, just teabagging homeschoolers.

25. Unfortunately, the majority of
"teabagger" kids across the country ARE in school-board-run-public schools.

Thanks for not knocking all homeschoolers. We get a bit defensive around here, 'cause usually hs'ers are equated with freeps.

14. That's one of the reasons why I am
opposed to home schooling and private schools...the kids in those situations get a very stilted view of things and then as adults don't know how to fucking cope in society as a normal human being.

Hell, the leaders of the teabaggers want all of 'em ignorant. Makes it easy to turn them into useful idiots who will protest against their own self interests and insure wealth gets transferred from teabagging morons to rich executives who use astroturf to organize teabagging morons.

24. You really think that all homeschoolers are ignorant?

Yeah. right. sure.

Come over to the DU homeschool forum and say that, 'k?

Many people homeschool for reasons besides religion.

Many of the kids are very intelligent and were not being challenged or properly educated in the local school-board-run-public school system.

Or they were gifted and learning disabled and it seems that most school-board-run-public schools are quite befuddled by that combination.

Or they were bullied in school.

Or they're just "different". "Quirky", as it were. Aspie kids, challenged kids, out-of-the-box-thinker kids, self-directed learners, those with a passion for LEARNING anything and everything and not at some set "pace" set arbitrarily by some schoolboard in a room devoid of innovation and inspiration.

29. "It's their right to keep their children ignorant"
by implication you (seemed to be) saying that all homeschooled kids are ignorant.

I'm terribly sorry if I've accused you falsely, but as the pov of most DU'ers is that hs'ing is for fundie batshit crazy ignorant freepers, you could see where I might infer that as being your "statement".

PS - why the vitriol?

This discussion centers around teabaggers, as were my statements. I am not responsible for you failing to comprehend that.

23. not so -
many school-board-run-public schools are as bad, or worse, than what you imagine homeschooling to be.

Many homeschooers - especially the liberal ones - receive a much more "real-world" view in their education. Practical application. Ability to question, to pursue. To research beyond what you're "supposed to know", to embrace ideologies that don't match your teachers.

Yeah, a lot of fundie homeschoolers are being brainwashed, but they're just as brainwashed whether or not they attend school-board-run-public schools. Have you noticed that there is absolutely NO "Holidays" allowed in schools anymore?

Have you noticed the school districts that teach "intelligent design", require their kids to stand for the Pledge, and advocate extreme conservative values, including condoning bullying of anyone "different" (especially if they're gay), the complete subjugation to "authority" - - -

and "god" help you if you're a black or hispanic . . .

don't knock hs'ing if you don't know anything about it.

Try visiting the homeschooling forum right here on DU. Yup. There are quite a few. . . . and guess what, not a one of them are ignorant, unable to cope with society, nor undereducated.

Case in point - do you know who Ava is?

9. The power rest with it's people and the people elected Obama
so refusing your children from viewing and address by our relatively new democratically elected leader is thwarting the power that we have entrusted to him in this republican-ly run system.

It's another twisted logic move by the power starved RW.

BushCo stole the meaning of words, now his entrails are pushing to rid us of reason.

Obama should read "My Pet Goat" to the school kids. Apparently that will not indoctrinate our youth into the current fascist, communist, socialist, nazi government that will make Jesus illegal and take all of our guns away.

Sarah Palin knows the only reason the left is fighting global warming is because we need the ice floes to put all them senior citizens on.
