Dr. Nancy supports a public option for health care.
There is a short video clip of her on Morning Joe agreeing that there must be a public option. Andy Serwer agrees with her.

NBC Doc Agrees with Howard Dean: No Reform without Public Option

Snyderman appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Aug. 17 to discuss the shift in debate. Host Joe Scarborough kicked off the segment by asking, “So do you agree with Howard Dean that health care reform bill without a public option is not health care reform at all?”

“Yes.” Snyderman’s replied immediately. “Because we’ve gotten derailed it’s all about access and spending more money and sort of balancing the budget -- the health care budget. There are two things I think we forgot to talk about. And that is not just people who don’t have any insurance, but the underinsured.”

Snydermann (who contributed a total of $800 to Democratic congressional candidates between jobs at ABC and NBC) continued by suggesting how the White House could have framed the debate: “Here’s what I think the White House could have done and we would be looking at a very different argument. What if you said for all of you here who have your insurance you’re fine. But for people who don’t have anything or they’ve lost theirs why not be able to buy into something like Medicare?”

Scarborough argued that the public option would not result in more competition and asked Fortune magazine’s managing editor Andy Serwer to respond. Serwer also sided against the free market.

You can tell by the wording that the article is from a site which promotes free market enterprise.

She also said this was not about government taking over things, but about giving more access. I thought this was interesting because she does not take sides that much on her show.

3. that's interesting because just the other day she was on the today show
saying how we could save 70% of our costs by just changing eating habits, exercising and reducing stress. It sounded to me like that was her solution for the healthcare problems. While I agree that these things would help with the overall health of the country... I do not think that would fix the healthcare problem. And if I was mistaken about what she was saying, then I am glad I was mistaken. The only thing that is going to fix the healthcare problem is to take the profit motive out of whether someone is covered or not or what is covered. and to MAKE the private insurers actually compete... and they aren't competing now, no matter what they say or anyone else says.

6. Well, since the rw site was critical of their stance against "free market"
I gather she wants a real public option.

Read it again.

9. It is, you are right.
Surprised me as she was giving Dean a rough time on her show about it. Here's the video.

10. Thank you for this! He took her to school as Anthony Weiner to Scarborough

to school. Now if they could be so CLEAR about what a "public option" means, why can't our President do the same? The worst thing in this whole debate was for the Democrats to adopt the name Public Option. It should have been immediately named Medicare 4 All and then there would be Private Options available, but what do you expect when much of our Congress & members of the Administration have their souls owned by Corp Health Ins and Big Pharma?
