The American government -- which we once called our government
Edited on Wed Sep-02-09 12:55 PM by Pharaoh
The real war is not between the left and the right. It is between the average American and the ruling class. It's time we took back our government from those who would make us their slaves.

The American government -- which we once called our government -- has been taken over by Wall Street, the mega-corporations and the super-rich. They are the ones who decide our fate. It is this group of powerful elites, the people President Franklin D. Roosevelt called "economic royalists," who choose our elected officials -- indeed, our very form of government. Both Democrats and Republicans dance to the tune of their corporate masters. In America, corporations do not control the government. In America, corporations are the government.

Thank you Larry!

1. What would you propose to replace corporations with?
Government nationalizing industry? That was never intended with our constitution.

2. Just make them accountable. No "personhood" without full liability.

3. That seems reasonable.
If a corporation is found guilty or liable for wrong doing it should be taken out the the shareholders hides and in particular its officers.

4. He's right, mostly, but there has been no "take-over."
It has always been this way. When you see that picture of the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence, that was the Ruling Class of America at that time signing the document. The Colonial Ruling Class founded this country.

Believe it or not, the iron grip of the ruling class used to be much stronger. Really and truly, as imperfect as the U.S. is now, this is the best it has ever been. Mainly because liberals have slowly, with blood and toil, made it better.

And we continue to try to do so.

5. Yet many Americans are too blind to see
that as long as Rush, et al can keep us fighting each other over ideology, then we won't join forces to fight the real criminals.
