Levi Johnston: Palin wanted to adopt grandchild to cover up pregnancy
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Levi Johnston, the father of Sarah Palin's grandchild, said the former Republican vice presidential candidate wanted to adopt his child so that people wouldn't know her 17-year-old daughter was pregnant. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Johnston said Palin had a plan to deal with Bristol's pregnancy.

"Sarah kept mentioning this plan. She was nagging — she wouldn't give it up. She would say, 'So, are you gonna let me adopt him?' We both kept telling her we were definitely not going to let her adopt the baby. I think Sarah wanted to make Bristol look good, and she didn't want people to know that her 17-year-old daughter was going to have a kid," Johnston told the magazine for its October edition, which goes on sale Saturday. Excerpts of the interview were posted Wednesday on the magazine's Web site.

Johnston said the Palin home in Wasilla was not what most people would think.

"The Palin house was much different from what many people expect of a normal family, even before she was nominated for vice president. There wasn't much parenting in that house. Sarah doesn't cook, Todd doesn't cook — the kids would do it all themselves," Johnson told Vanity Fair.

1. I don't cook
My wife also works and doesn't always have time to cook and we do eat out a lot. Is there something wrong with us?

2. Levi Johnston thinks you're not a normal family
you will have to find some way to cope with that. ;-)

4. Do you have five underage kids who are left to fend for themselves?

17. We have one
We do have an underage kid but we take him along with us of course. We have odd shifts. I work during the day but she is a hotel worker and works a lot of odd shifts. It's rare for the three of us to be all together (like the Republicans tell us we should be).

5. Do you have kids?
Edited on Wed Sep-02-09 03:18 PM by damonm
If you do, then I would be inclined (on the basis of VERY little evidence, so take it for what it's worth) to say yes - you'd need to adjust something.
If you don't, then you're about as normal as it's possible to be.

(edit to add)
Either way, you're not holding yourself up as a "family values" defender, either.

6. I don't think its that
my parent's were self employed and worked a lot. but one of the things they stressed was us having dinner together as a family. taking the time out to kind sit down together and have that connection, that you know, we weren't supposed to just warm up top ramen and that was it.

I think he was getting at both those points, not really a whole "family" thing going on and making their kids just fend for themselves.

8. If your wife is trying to pass herself off as Supermom
Edited on Wed Sep-02-09 03:20 PM by Blue_In_AK
and yet leaves her five kids to fend for themselves, then, yes, there's something wrong. Sarah has tried to portray herself as the best "hockey mom" in the world, the "mama grizzly" who defends her kids (and her state  ) until death. She's a fraud and a hypocrite, and I'm glad Levi is getting the word out.

7. I've always believed Trig was Levi's and Bristol's and that was the real coverup.
It's hard to believe he's not talking about Trig here, because nothing else makes sense.

14. Funny how the birthers aren't interested in Trig's BC or Sarah's health records.
Of course, they really aren't interested in character or performance when they choose their Republican leaders. As long as they hate Democrats, that's all the CV they need.

20. The real story about Trig
Is not who the mother is, but whether he's getting the care a Down's Syndrome baby needs.

22. Exactly, and my hunch would be that he's not,
if what I'm hearing from people who know people in Wasilla is true. Even assuming Trig is Sarah's child, she took a tremendous risk flying back to Alaska from Texas after her water broke, then embarking on the hour's drive from the Anchorage Airport out to the hospital in Wasilla. Was she hoping that something dreadful would happen to the little tyke en route? You hate to think that about a person, but I see no good reason why she couldn't have gone to a hospital in Texas to deliver, or at the very least had him at one of the two very good hospitals here in Anchorage. The story doesn't make sense.
