Dear Blue Dogs

You should uphold the desires of the winning majority and of the President in support of a Public Option/Single Payer or method similar. I feel that when you ran as a Democrat, when an issue of this importance is upon us, that would save lives, save homes and assure the overall financial welfare of the Country, you need to set aside your "responding to your constituents speech" and stand up for the majority of Americans and with your Party.
If you cannot do this, then when the next election comes around, we will remove you from office for dereliction of duties and disregard of the people and of our Party which desires the hope and possibility for a brighter and more just future . Of this you can be sure of.

1. My theory is that blue dogs are really just Republicans that
are slightly more moderate than the guy that the radical right was sure to elect in the primaries. They were hoping that the Republican nominee would get caught at something between primary and general election, or that the general voting population, while tending to vote Republican in that particular state, isn't quite as extreme as the candidate that the Republican base (primary voters) chose.

But definitely Republican in their thinking.

2. and definitely taking a "minority position" in regards to health care. They are on the wrong side
of the fence in this argument and in the needs of this Country's people.

3. Have to disagree - they should represent their constituents
and not the US majority. That is not the system of government we have (we could go there but that is a different thread). But I agree with your overall point which I think is that they should vote for health care reform. There are two major schools of thought on how representatives should vote on a particular issue. One, they could basically take a poll and vote on any issue based on what their constituents want. Two, they should use their own judgment and do what they think is best for their constituents. I prefer number two which in my view, leads to health care reform having a shot at passing.
