The wimpy wusses they portray as "liberals" on TV talking head shows are the worst kind of representatives for Democratic/progressive/liberal policies that could possibly be found.

No spine, no spirit, it rarely seems like they even give a crap. They let themselves get shouted down by the right wing assholes, and bullied by the supposedly "neutral " hosts.

These discussions are inevitably painted as "liberal" vs. "conservative" as though these are the only two gradations in American political thought. Then the "liberal" advocate is made to look like a weenie and a buffoon. And magically, the "liberal" viewpoint is discredited.

Carrie Nation, so I've been led to believe, had some backbone. Whether you agreed with her cause or not. I'd like to see some Dems with some now.
