What you said is true about middle class and poor Republicans. I suppose you could make a case for wealthy Republicans voting against their own interests. So far as they push the right-wing agenda so far that it backfires on them.

I have relatives who are staunch Republicans.
They are extremely rich...
Extremely rich.
I don't agree with them, but I understand that they are acting in their own personal interests.
It's the rest of the morans, who do vote against their own personal interests, that drive me up the wall!

They own their private companies, so they are not subject to the vagrancies of the stock market.
