Congress should pass several smaller health care bills rather than one big one. |
|
This probably will never happen, but Congress should pass multiple health care bills.
They should pass one bill that forces insurance companies to accept anybody and everybody into their plans. They should pass another bill that does away with annual or life time caps on payouts. They should pass a third bill that limits the spread between the highest and lowest premium charged on any given plan. They should pass a fourth bill that makes doctors and hospitals post their fees, and charge everybody the same. Finally they should pass a bill that creates a government run non-profit plan that people may elect to join.
It is an improvement to health care if even one of the five bills passes.

1. Maybe just a bill, no,... |
|
maybe a non-binding resolution that asks the insurance industry to be a little bit nicer. Yea, that would be an improvement. NO PUBLIC OPTION, NO BILL !!!

4. Ending insurance discrimination alone would save millions |
|
65 million have insurance but no coverage for their disease or for a certain treatment. That alone would save 65 million lives and I"D Be Happy.

2. how about one bill.... getting rid of the age requirements for medicare |
|
and forcing insurance companies who want to participate in the US to accept anyone who wants to join and that they cannot kick people out if they get sick. maybe federalizing the rules regarding how insurance companies operate and what they must cover... because right now it is a state by state thing. so some states require things are covered while others don't. and the federal government plan seems to be able to have rules for any insurance company that participates in their plan. And along with opening medicare to all who want to join it or buy into it, allow anyone to join it even if they can get something through their employer.

3. not to charge everyone the same, but |
|
to not charge the uninsured MORE then what insurance companies, medicare included, pay. The problem isn't the charge, the problem is the insurance companys don't way what is charged, the always pay less then that
under the current system it is illegal to charge less then what medicare pays, but perfectly ok to charge (and demand to be paid) the uninsured anything you want.
Why do the uninsured have to pay more then what medicare and insurance companies pay?
