They get their trigger... and control of congress in the midterms. |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-03-09 09:45 AM by redqueen
What a deal!
But no, surely that's not their plan... to trick these gullible, spineless, or complicit dems into passing a bill so noxious that the electorate delivers congress into the hands of the same GOP that screwed this country up from hell to breakfast for 8 years straight. Surely not.
What's the logic in allowing private insurers to determine if/when we get a public option? What's the defense for this idea? The only reason I can see for it is to protect their profits, at the expense of people's health. Haven't we allowed these parasites to bleed Americans and their employers dry long enough yet?

America is not a very intelligent nation. People are easily fooled and are not particularly curious, so most don't really pay that close attention to what goes on. Most people do not read newspapers or watch the nightly news. They get most of their news from second hand sources such as Rush Limbaugh or friends. Once the campaigns begin and the political ads come out is when people will be swayed..You must realize we here, or on other political sites, are very much in the minority..Those in high office understand that and legislate with that viewpoint..It has always been that way and IMO always will be. America as a nation is most definitely getting more retarded by the day..

21. Sure... but it should be the activists who organize primary challengers... |
|
and who spread the word about them... change like this happens slowly, but it has to start somewhere.

Obama's going to break the news the the left that they're actually sitting underneath the bus on September 9.
Tiome to pressure the PCC to stand by their pledge and vote against this turkey.
If Obama does what I think he'll do, it's time to throw Obama under the bus.

5. $$$$$ ... what other reason could there be? |
|
We have the votes to leave the GOP behind... it's about $$$$, pure and simple.
I hope they think it's worth it if/when they lose congress.

6. Not much backlash. Historically, incumbents are retained at a rate |
|
greater than 90%. They know this, it is not a secret. They don't care.
We complain and moan and give the low approval ratings, and then reelect them.
We are screwn, and we do it to ourselves.

Lieberman was replaced in a primary... I have to hope more Dems in the electorate will get involved and shake things up.

11. But then he was still elected to the seat |

The incumbents know they have to pretty much fuck a teenager, hooker or murder a pretty blonde girl before they risk losing their seat.

18. That is true, but I think |
|
that this time things are different. We Democrats are not the only ones who voted for this desperately needed change. I come from a large military family who are for the most part staunch Republicans and several of them voted a straight Democratic ticket. I have reached the point to where, if I have to hold my nose to vote for a Dem, I will stay home. That kills me because there has never been an election where I am not standing at the door when the polls open. A lot of people I know have reached that point also. It is always good to talk to you.

Your emoticon pretty much sums up my feelings. At this point I am asking myself why I expended so much effort to put them in the majority. Obviously they can't do anything with it. They just let the other party dictate EVERYTHING. I am so frustrated and disillusioned with it all. Why the fuck did these assholes tell me they were going to make sure I had health care when they knew damn well they were just blowing smoke up my ass to get me to help them. I am on the verge of just giving up.

we're at least slowly leaving Iraq... as opposed to sending more troops there... and Cheney was trying to start a war with Iran. I'm pretty sure that won't happen now.

I dont regret winning. President Palin would have been a frightening future. But I am frustrated enough with my own party to say enough is enough. This is more about congress then it is about obama. Congress has done nothing substantial for us- they kiss the asses of the corporations and suck up to the repukes- and then I ask myself, why the fuck did I even bother.
