Joe Scarborough's story about Teddy Kennedy on today's radio show
He reported that when he left Congress because of his son's diabetes diagnosis, none of his colleagues called, wrote, or showed any interest in keeping in contact with him, with one exception.

Ted Kennedy sent a gift and a letter expressing his concern, saying that if he could ever be of any help to his son, to give him a call.

It was interesting information coming from Scarborough.

2. Seems like nearly everyone Ted came into contact with benefited from his kindness.

5. Why doesn't he mention that on his TV show?
He had a lot to say about Chappaquidick, but somehow this story never escaped Joe's lips.

9. He mentioned the Kennedy story frequently (esp. the day he died)
Edited on Thu Sep-03-09 12:23 PM by Mike Daniels
In 3 hours of television programming per day last week I would hear Joe and his castmates consistently talk positively about Kennedy with maybe a mention or two about Chappaquidick.

Chappaquidick played a major role as far as Kennedy's life goes as it effectively ended any realistic change he had of becoming president. Mentioning it in the context of discussing Kennedy's career is reasonable and should be expected.
