The root of the HC reform problem
is this:

OBAMA should have primarily dealt with the problem of LOBBYISTS! FIRST!!!

Big Corp. Insurance and Drug companies have lobbyists and until they are eliminated from being able to pull so much weight the problem of reform will continue for this and any other issue that is on the table.

Big Corp. will always stand in the way of progress-always.

It's up to us to pressure the WH to change the business as usual, to business as it should be:

By the People, For the people....

2. but lobbying with cash donations
should be illegal, it was called bribary (and illegal) up until the robber baron era (which led to the great depression)

3. Yes but if Obama had followed the step by step instructions laid out in the OP
all of the lobbyists would have manifested a new world outlook and would have resigned their positions voluntarily.

4. Biggest problem is the propaganda put out by the GOP
but yes with the addition of the Health Insurance Lobby we have a perfect storm of sorts. The GOP and Bigots in general see this as an opportunity to stop Obama (the first Black President) and the Health Insurance Lobby as just out to protect their monopoly

10. I thought (obviously mistakenly)
...that Obama intended to sweep the lobbyists out. If they had no power we could move forward toward our goals. I say "WE" and "OUR" because that's what I thought he was about. A Change in the right direction for the people.

There might be a place for insurance companies in a new insurance bill but it shouldn't be a place where they have any power whatsoever. If they have a place it should be to provide insurance, not to get rich and to make money off of the backs of suffering people.

For a few years I've considered voting "Green", because I've been so very disappointed with Democrats in the Senate and the House, but there was always the old threat that it would take votes away from Democrats and what we would get would be worse. If the Democrats decide they are just like Republicans as a party, except maybe they talk as though they aren't, I will vote Green or whatever.

This is the Democrats Waterloo unless they step up and do what they should for the people.

There must be a public option or I'm afraid the Democratic Party will be a thing of the past.

8. Does Obama want to deal with the lobbyists?
He really doesn't seem to have a serious problem with the system as it is.
