Why in the fuck is that?
OK, they did mention yesterday that Teddy's book is coming out soon.

1. The media isn't silent about Teddy. 2. Jackson hasn't been buried yet, so I'm not surprised to see "news" about the burial.

15. What about some of the other Greats we lost in the past few weeks? |
|
I'd gladly take a little of Jackos time and maybe even some of Teddys (he'd want me to) to talk about Mike Seeger, or Les Paul & what their loss means to the musical world.

5. Well I guess media COULD keep harping on the negative about Kennedy and keep it alive |
|
Which is what they have been doing with MJ for the most part (drug use, kid issues, murder angle, etc).
Kind of glad they aren't covering it like MJ.

8. Notice they're harping on Teddy's book |
|

12. MJ was an entertainer, TK was a politician. |
|
Whenever you see an animal abuse thread, and the abuser was not an entertainer, compare the responses in your mind to the responses the Vick animal abuse threads received.
I am not sure if this comes from the great importance people attach to entertainment, or if this is a dramatic form of idol worship, or something else, but it is pretty interesting to witness.

16. Did Teddy die from someone giving him to many drugs resulting in homicide charges? |
|
I thought he died from natural causes ie cancer? :sarcasm: The coverage of Ted Kennedy was overall pretty classy - I'll take that over wacko jacko type coverage anyday.

17. Local media is still mentioning Teddy... |
|
But aside from that, I think the whole deal with this is that we have known for some time that Teddy was terminal. And he was 77. And he died of natural causes.
But Michael Jackson was younger, he died suddenly, and there is the whole brouhaha over his death now being called a "homicide". Plus he's being buried tonight.
There's not much the media can do to sensationalize an older guy who died from natural causes, whereas a relatively young man who dies from drug overdose is fodder for sensationalism.
It'll all die down after a while.
