That's right. Forbid students in your school to hear the President's speech. |
|
It's like a banned book. Every book that they didn't want us to read we found and read. The President's speech in schools that have forbidden it? Kids will find it on U-Tube and lap it up.

1. Are there schools straight up forbidding it or are you talking about parents opting kids out? |

Because I certainly would have opted my children out of any Bush speech. Thankfully, the option never came up.
I believe is was poster Yvonne who said in Cali parents can opt kids out of many things in public schools. I assume other states are like ours and allow opt out.
I have heard some people were not given the opt out option during a Reagan era address. I think that is wrong. When did we decide people had to be forced to listen to any politician, even the President?
That said, a school forbidding the speech to be aired in school is as bad as the idea that people must be forced to listen to it as well.

2. You don't prevent them from hearing it (Even Dumbya). |
|
You sit down with them and discuss it afterward. Even the youngest would have been massively confused at what the stupid man was trying to say, and it's a golden opportunity to educate a child in all manner of things, especially critical thinking.
I don't think they as concerned with what Obama's going to say, they're concerned their kids are going to like the evil Black man in the WH and call them on their hatred and racism.

3. Honestly, they can just keep their kids out of school that day. |
|
The President is speaking specifically to school kids I think that's actually a great thing!
However, I just do not like the idea of anyone being forced or forbidden from hearing it.
