3. The firefighter wiping his face.
He makes my stomach flip-flop and heart pitter-patter. They are such brave heroes. :loveya:

5. It's weird how some pictures, like those, can be terrifying and beautiful
at the same time. I mean beautiful as images, not of course what they represent just in case anybody thinks I meant something else.
Pics of nuclear explosions have some of that sort of beauty also.

6. A small suggestion -
I lost patience, trying to view these spectacular photos, because they bled one into the next.

You might put a space between each one - it would make a great big difference.

Thanks for this. Unbelievable pictures..................

8. Fixed!
I had hoped they would also show the captions but they didn't.

9. Great! Thank you!
The captions are all right, but, really, if you're not familiar with the area, they're not pertinent.

Those photos stand on their own, and, again, thank you for them................... :hi:

7. After the fire is out, when the rains come
...

By the way, guys and gals in the fire line, stay safe, or as safe as it can be done.

Been there, done that... and lord it is hot, dry and miserable, especially for the hand crews.

11. Our family and friends have many wonderful memories of hikes
in these mountains. We will really miss the beauty of these forests. The trees may grow back -- but they will not reach their full beauty in my lifetime.

In addition to the loss of beautiful landscapes, the loss of these forests means, I fear, a deterioration in the air quality in Los Angeles. I am also concerned about what the loss of these trees will mean for the rainfall and environment in general in this area.

We have been encouraged to plant trees to improve air quality. I have also read that trees somehow encourage rainfall, but I don't know whether that is true.
