how the hell do you even debate this?

To the Editor,

Suicide. This is a word we all know but we do not use it in our everyday conversations. It is an unpleasant word but have you noticed it has been brought up recently as a way older people can put an end to their life so as to save our/their tax dollars so we can continue to support Washington, D.C., in the custom they are used to?

Suicide is a common word in some countries and it may become one here if we don’t put our foot down now. Those young men and women who blow themselves up have been brainwashed to believe they are going into a wonderful place with many luxuries they would never have here, but they have been deceived. Everyone wants to live so it takes a man with a big mouth and a long, smooth tongue to talk them into taking their own life in such a horrible way.

Can we be talked into this?

Will we fall for this lie?

Suicide is for the unlearned persons who listen to the wrong teachers or they are unstable. It is not for Christians or God-fearing people. It is a disgrace to our nation that it has even been brought up. This is going to be a blight on our society as long as we allow it to continue to be spoken of as a way to die. It has not been that long ago since the courts sentenced Dr. K. for his “assisted suicide” practice.

What has happened?

We have a foreigner in the White House and we knew it when we put him there. So who do we blame?

In God we trust.

Catherine Butler,

Red Oak

3. I would point out the sentence about 'learned persons',
cite a para. or two calling her out, and ask her about her level of education because the prez is not a foreigner. Teh stoopid does hurt, no doubt about it. Oh, and why is she so itent on scaring people? She learned her lessons too well from the previous admin.

there is no getting through to them, and the vast majority here and around the world simply laugh at them.

They're a dying breed.

7. They're gaining power?
How?

These types are just tools for the neo-cons.

The neo-cons have had a stranglehold on power for nearly a decade... in what way are they increasing their power?

17. Well . . .
. . . the majority of this country elected Obama knowing (believing?) he was a progressive and would work for health care reform - this is gaining power. Now, a minority of the wackos are controlling the debate - this is gaining power for the wackos and losing power for those of us who wanted true change.

9. the highest suicide rates in the US have been the young and the old-
and for reasons that don't have as much to do with healthcare, as they do with frustration, pain and hoplessness.

Having access to GOOD healthcare without guilt, or fear would do more to help people considering this option to choose otherwise in my view.

I'm personally aquainted with the subject of suicide.

peace~

and it is sad.
I think your area is about as red as my area and stupidity and racism abounds.
I'd really like to be able to get my ducks in a row and just leave the craziness behind.
