Another post in my paper today-where do I go to discredit this?
I know it's bullshit-can you give me some resources(not that they will believe them)

http://www.thedailylight.com/articles/2009/09/04/opinion/doc4aa0404a0806e558213724.txt

To the Editor,

The first big lie? Look at the breakdown of the uninsured. These figures are from the Census Bureau:

• 18 million make over $50,000 and chose not to sign up for insurance.

• 10 million make over $75,000 and chose not to sign up for insurance.

• 10 million eligible for Medicare, Medicaid, or SHIP but not enrolled.

• 10 million illegal aliens counted in the total as not having insurance.

• 2 million chronically uninsured.

Do these figures indicate that we should totally destroy our health care system and go with what the Democrats have planned for us? I don’t want to. I have read this entire bill and some places that pertain to my husband and I several times to make sure that I understood. It is a real monstrosity.

Previsions of House Bill 3200 which Obama favors and the Democrats want to pass.

Sec. 440-1904 Pg. 838 states: Government agents will visit you at home and educate on child behavior and parenting skills. This is a mandate. What government agents? Why would they invade the privacy of your home?

Pg. 30 Sec. There will be a government committee that decides what treatments/benefits you get. Unions are exempted!

Pg. 42 – the health choices commissioner will choose your HC benefits for you. You have no choice! Government, not you will decide what health care you are allowed.

Pg. 50 Sec. 152 – HC will be provided to all non-U.S. citizens, illegal or otherwise.

Pg. 170-lines 1-3 Any nonresident alien is exempt from individual taxes. Only U.S. citizens will pay; illegal residents will get free health care.

Pg. 241-Line 6-8 – Family practice physicians and specialists will be paid the same fees. I doubt there will be many specialists.

Pg. 272 – Sec. 1145 – Certain treatment of cancer hospitals. Under guidelines developed by Dr. Emanuel, the very young and seniors will be denied health care and treatments for cancer.

Pg. 353 – Sec. 1177 – Government will restrict enrollment of special needs people.

Dr. Emanuel, Rahm Emanuel’s brother, believes in the following: Health care should be rationed based on the age of the patient, cost of the procedure, health of the patient, approximately how many years the patient may live, and productiveness to society. This is currently used to deny care in Canada and the UK. This idea is based on the study of rugenics that Hitler used during World War II, when he exterminated the old, sick, mentally ill, physically handicapped and Jews.

Dr. Emanuel wrote the guidelines for this bill along with Compassion and Choice who used to be called the Hemlock Society and believe in assisted suicide and euthanasia. Washington and Oregon are routinely denying Medicaid patients treatment for cancer and instead offer assisted suicide.

So what groups would likely be denied health care based on the above principals? Senior citizens, even fairly healthy ones. Premature babies, young children with expensive medical conditions, mentally ill, birth defects, physically handicaps. These individuals are believed to cost too much, and are not productive to society.

Obama says he will get $600 million from Medicaid and Medicare, mostly Medicare. He says this plan will save money. Big whopper! The Congressional Budget Officr said it will cost at least $1.7 more to the budget and even more in later years.

I am a nurse who worked for nearly 35 years in a wide variety of health care sectors. I do know my way around the health insurance system. It could be made better by some minor tweaks, but not totally dismantling of our system, which is a huge part of our economy. This proposal scares me more that anything I have ever studied in my life, and it should you, too.

I enrolled in Medicare, which started the first of January. It was totally messed up for six months. I was told something different every time I called, which was frequently. The VA has a lot of the same problems. Congress and the President will be excluded from this so called national health care that they plan for us and so will the unions.

Think about it.

3. For the part on HR 3200 here is a link for debunking

I do have a question about the people who "went without health insurance" - it is not clear in the post to the paper or in the article linked in the thread here whether those people voluntarily went without insurance or did so because they were denied coverage. I know from personal experience that some cannot get coverage no matter how much they are capable of paying. The more affluent end up "self-insuring" and hoping that nothing catastrophic happens to wipe out their assets. The poor simply do without health care.

6. Oh, where to start?
That letter is so loaded with bullshit, it would knock a buzzard off a wagon full of it. Nurse Lawrence is petrified that the plan whispered to her by the voices in her head won't cover members of Congress and the President, or anyone in a union, but that it will cover illegal aliens.

In your rebuttal letter, I suggest you grab hold firmly of just one prevarication, and throttle it mercilessly. Close with, "If this point was so easily shown to be untrue, what about the rest of this overlong screed? Think about it."

7. I got a laugh out of this part:
"Any nonresident alien is exempt from individual taxes."

Is the writer suggesting we SHOULD tax foreigners who don't even live here?
