LODI, Calif. --
A corrections counselor is suspected of keeping his wife captive and sexually abusing her for 22 months, Lodi police said.
Michael O’Riley, 60, was arrested Tuesday when police responded to a 911 call at 308 W. Lodi Ave.
O’Riley is a counselor at the Rio Consumnes Correctional Center in Sacramento County.
As officers arrived at his home, a 44-year-old woman ran toward a police cruiser and tried to jump in an open passenger window, police said.
Investigators said she told the officers that O’Riley had been abusing her. The officers said they then saw O’Riley loading weapons into his vehicle. They ordered him to stop. Initially, O’Riley did not comply, they said, but eventually he was arrested without any injury.
Police said O’Riley had been keeping his wife captive and depriving her of food and money. Her car was also hidden, they said.
