90 KILLED IN U.S. ATTACK- Stench of death hangs over Afghan riverbank
The stench of burnt flesh hung over the banks of the Kunduz river in the early hours of Friday, the ground scattered with the body parts of villagers who just wanted something for free.

Helping yourself to the spoils of hijacked military convoys is nothing new in Afghanistan and the payload of two fuel tankers destined for Nato-led forces seemed as good as any.

But the overnight bonanza soon turned to horror when Nato jets launched an airstrike before 3am (22.30GMT), strafing the tankers and igniting an inferno that officials said killed between 50 and 90 people.

"Nobody was in one piece. Hands, legs and body parts were scattered everywhere. Those who were away from the fuel tanker were badly burnt," said 32-year-old Mohammad Daud, depicting a scene from hell.

1. Winning hearts and minds again, are we...
So glad my tax dollars are going to support this and not healthcare for the families of the newly unemployed.

4. And this is the GOOD war
I read it today on DU, so it must be true!

I wonder if we'll hear about this massacre stateside? Or if we'll just find out about it when the survivors visit a little retribution on our pointy little heads? Which, of course, will result in more wargasm by the militaristic United States, cheered on by the mouth-breathers, the knuckle-draggers, and not a few "progressives" who think this is the way we defend ourselves.

8. Wow
So you think the kids should be blown to bits or you accept this murder as just another accident of war?

That's about as callous and appalling as it gets.

14. We had a long talk about this last night. Want to "win" in Afghanistan?
Provide them with humanitarian aid and open trade, while cutting off the flow of weapons via the U.N. and agreements with our international peers. Food and consumer goods, but NO weapons or ammunition.

Same goes for all the other "Countries of Concern".
