The "liberal" media, especially KO
MSNBC seems to spend more time covering lunatics than covering legitimate congressmen and senators who explain the health care reform bill, public option, and the insurance companies' effect on our economy. They should show more coverage of people who have health coverage in other countries, as well as people who are adversely affected by current conditions in US.

They should keep drumming about who and how much politicians from both parties receive from insurance companies and pharma.. They should better explain medicare advantage, another gizmo to involve private insurance.

They should spend no more than 5 minutes on protesters. No audience, no show. I am sick of seeing them at town meetings or elsewhere and they shouldn't be encouraged by the prospect of being on TV...they should be on "oddball."

Keith Olberman devotes almost all of his program to crazy people, and the other hosts are close behind.

4. "Keith Olberman devotes almost all of his program to crazy people,"
In his case, he is showing us just how crazy the country has become. That's the point of many of his shows, and I for one applaud him for doing so. It's important to know.

He is not passing them off as "real good 'Muricans" and giving them the perception of legitimacy by giving them a platform, like what FOX is doing...

5. I agree with that.
The problem is when these crazy people get the 'fair and balanced' treatment in the media. It's not just Faux doing that these days.

6. Any focus on them is just amplifying a small number of people.
The vast majority of people in this country don't define their existence by their political beliefs. The proliferation of 24-hour news serves only to amplify individuals, groups and events that really have little or nothing to do with how the vast majority of us are acting/living on a daily basis. If you watch these shows all the time, you can really get a skewed view of the world.

It's probably a good thing that, according to the ratings, only 1.6% of the country watches ANY of these 24-hour news channel blowhards.

7. He also pays too much attention to Fox
Bush got most of his insane policies through by IGNORING public opposition and protests.

8. I beg to differ...
Bush got most of his insane policies through by IGNORING public opposition and protests.

I sooner believe it was because of the media ignoring public opposition and protests. Bush just did what he was told...

9. What?
You mean actually discuss the issues rationally instead of shooting the messenger?

Like that'll ever happen on TV.

The closest has been Lou Dobbs as far as I can see. He's had people going from one country to the next explaining each countries health care system and discussing pros and cons of each, a different country each day mostly in Europe.

10. Negative sells.
The best way to get an audience is to make them so mad they 'have to' watch.

11. remember, they still have to do what their corporate
masters tell them. i think they get a lot of info out because they make enough money for those corporations. once they lose their audience, they will be gone and so will our chance to learn about the good AND bad stuff going on in the political world. imagine faux news for all. for that reason, i give them some slack. this is NOT the old days when news was really news.

12. How often do you really watch KO?
Are you judging him by only a few broadcasts? I think so. I see him devote PLENTY of time to serious coverage of issues.

13. Here's what's funny
When you watch MSNBC, they can actually show you video of people being crazy.

On FOX, they just claim someone liberal was crazy. Telling.
