I've figured out how to get on my Right Wing friends collective nerve...
Apparently they don't like liberal views posted on Face Book when they are busy networking and posting drivel about some mundane task like brushing their teeth that they are contemplating. I'm now making it my mission to post a sane, rational liberal thought at least once a day on Face Book.......I think every civic minded liberal on FB should make it their patriotic duty to join me in my quest. :patriot:

1. LMFAO
I had one friend who's a conservative try to bitch me out about 'doing something."

then just was like, well I'm gonna block your feed since it's just propaganda without doing anything about it.

it really gets on their nerves when they want people to pretend like you care if they just ate pastrami on rye.

7. I had one do something similar.....
Now this guy LIVES on FB 24/7, has 500+ friends and uses it to try and get acting jobs and tell us all what poodle he is pet sitting for this week..........he had the nerve to post some crap about liberals acting like lemmings and we 'needed to get out and do something' instead of discussing universal health care....his response told me I had hit them where they live....and they didn't like it much. Another friend just did a status update educating people on past Presidents speaking to school children and they are howling, lol.

2. Already been doing just that
and I have found it goes like this.

RW Screech,

followed by a few comments from me,

followed by more RW Screech,

followed by several posting of links to various sites with facts and then it all goes quiet.

Leading me to believe that they don't want facts disturbing their 'beautiful minds"

3. I've been doing that today and........
now I get to see who I've pissed off with the truth.
I don't give a shit. I am so pissed off at the ignorance that I can't control myself anymore.

6. All of my family and friends that I have on Facebook are liberals.
So I ALWAYS post there with my political thoughts. My Facebook group is a love fest for progressives...sort of like my own personalized DU...

9. Sounds like a bunch of people hiding from reality . . .in fact, we have it here at DU!!
Edited on Fri Sep-04-09 02:40 PM by defendandprotect
Was reading a thread here earlier by another worshiper who can't bear criticism

of Obama -- and within the thread at least 4 or more posters proudly stated that

they hadn't "recommended" a thread at DU in one case in a week -- in another in

a month!

Think of all that's gone on in the world, reported here at DU, even in just the

last two weeks -- information which they were hoping would NOT be seen and

commented on by other DU'ers!!!

Frightening!!!

10. It seems most of my FB friends don't want to hear my political views.
I think many of them have me turned off in their feeds. FB is actually a very ineffective way to discuss politics because people just shut their ears to whatever they don't agree with.

It seems most FB users want to participate in quizzes, watch cat videos, and basicly retreat from real life.

11. People tend to shy away from things they know nothing about, & surround themselves w/the likeminded
As a means of reinforcing the ignorance/indifference as 'normal.' The US has a rate of de-politicization that makes dictators the world over salivate for a populace as easily pacified and controlled as ours.

13. I was the same until yesterday.....
All I did was C&P the Health Care qoute to my status (my first ever political status) and then the nasties came out of the woodwork with their own status updates and comments. That got me to thinking........and I decided why the heck not go for it? If I can read stupid status updates about what someone was having for lunch.......then they could read a status update that might actually have a little thought behind it.

For saying Palin is a wackjob - of course, this woman lives in Alaska (central Alaska) and is a right winger, so I should have expected it. The right wing is absolutely insane these days - scarily insane.

16. Don't forget the SNARK!
Here's one of mine from earlier in response to dimwits bragging about voting no in a poll about him speaking to school children

a man who spent part of his childhood in a single parent household, part raised by loving grandparents, worked hard in school excelled, helped underprivileged neighborhoods in Chicago work toward a better life instead of taking a high paying job at a law firm, went into public service, great father, married in a stable christian household and then was elected by a strong majority to the office of President. Yep, I could see how you wouldn't want him to encourage your children to work hard and make good grades in school.

Also, anytime I link to a Rachel or Keith clip, I always tag it "For my fox viewing friends!"

We might not change stupid, but we can have some fun!

Really pisses off my wingnut sister. Oh well. I've listened to her religious wacko crap for years and kept my mouth shut. I figure I can post anything I want on MY Facebook page, tough shit if she doesn't like what I have to say.
