she was the "type" they would give a pill to and she would die.

some just don't understand history and the flow of things.
One good thing about the Paulites, though--I've found I can get through to them on health care to this extent--I ask if they have read the bill. I then say that I don't trust what someone tells me, I read it for myself. This appeals to their sense of "citizen government" and they go out and read the darned thing. Haven't heard back from any yet, but I'm hoping when I do they argue on the merits of the bill, and not on hype (and I plan to ask them their opinions of Beck et al who were spewing lies).

Some of their rantings make them sound like Turner Diaries stereotypes. Others think Ayn Rand is a blueprint for life. Either way . . .

Who KNOW they are more intelligent than the norm but not educated/experienced in the proper fields to make educated/experienced decisions.
That and they always want to play Magic the Gathering...and invest in Gold.
That fat guy at the gaming shop who claims he knows everything about everything but kissing girls (live ones)...Ron Paul to the nth power...
(by the way Gaming is both video gaming and Role Playing Gaming...no, were not all obese unkempt virgins like the steriotype.)

A friend of mine and I were talking when started extolling the virtues of Ron Paul. We were on the phone and I got her to sit down at her computer and visit some websites. She was surprised and then shocked at some of his other views.
She's well-educated but doesn't know caca about politics.

|
If you go to the StormFront white supremacist forums, they have a Tea Party sub forum all bragging about how they love the tea party movement.
I would post a link but the admin's would delete the post.
I sent the link to a Glen Beck loving, teabagging, co-worker of my wife that is on facebook and he abruptly stopped answering my posts.

25. There are quite a few Libertarians who aren't |
|
majorly pro-gun rights and are for a common sense approach.
The way I explained Libertarians simply to my eldest DD last year was this.. 1) Many are socially rather "progressive" but are anti-gov & anti-tax. 2) If Republicans say they want to shrink government to fit into a bathtub, Libertarians want it to fit in a thimble. 3) I tend to think of a Libertarian as 1/2 Dem and 1/2 Republican... with the top half with it's brain being the Dem part. ;)
FWIW.. I don't see Libertarians and tea-baggers as mutally exclusive. I can handle left leaning Libertarians as long as we stick to Social issues like Gay Marriage, etc. Tea baggers OTOH are one of three types from what I've seen so far.. they're either sadly misinformed, dumber then a doorknob or nuttier then a year old Christmas fruitcake with thinking just as stale. ;)
