These right wing nuts are just scraping for a confrontation
Edited on Fri Sep-04-09 04:39 PM by Javaman
anything to get their excuse to start something.

they scream and yell, throw tantrums, bring guns to speeches to intimidate, punch people, and bite off fingers, yet, we on the left are not playing into it. Not giving them the excuse they so desperately want.

They want that reason to whip out their guns and go all rambo, they want to kill some "wimpy" liberals to prove how macho they are, but what they are are simply spoiled brats who don't like it when they don't get their way.

And as adults we have to keep maintaining our composure. Not give into the 3 year olds tantrums because if we do, we lower ourselves and become as bad as they are. Then things spiral out of control.

I know it's hard, I know it's tough to walk away from belligerent stupidity, but it is our mission to keep walking forward. They will do far worse things before they are truly finished.

When the propaganda spewing networks see the market share shrinking by promoting such stupidity, these lunatics will once again be marginalized to the fringe.

Right now they are enjoying their day in the sun, but it won't always be like this. They will fizzle out and vanish to their cabins in the woods to write insane screeds against the government, while the rest of the right wing will hopefully wake up from their drunken bush* stupor and realized just how colossally moronic they have been.

It won't be next week or even next year, but it will happen, but until that time, don't give in to their egging on, their needling us to instigate, to give them that excuse, for if we do, the door will be kicked open to a reality I personally don't want to visit.

Keep strong, keep focused, keep informed.

Inform, enlighten, ignore.

1. Small correction
It was a health care reform supporter who bit off the finger of a wing-nut protester.
Disgraceful and I wish he'd read this before the act.

8. The finger-biter was punched in the face - twice - before acting
If it had been me, I would have gone for an eyeball. It tends to take the fight out of your opponent.

4. Yes I do.
this time, it seems far more out of control.

The war supporters back then didn't openly carry fire arms. Only the National Guard did and we know how that worked out.

I see this being more insidious, more random, more sporadic. To me more dangerous.

3. you are correct - no reason to stoop to their level of discourse
they are being seen as who they really are - and their boorish behavior will do them in.

patience.

6. Have you been asleep for 20 years?
We have given in to their "boorish behavior" (I would call it terrorism) on every issue since Limpballs took over the country. When exactly is it going to "do them in"?

"This will backfire on them" is not just a river in Egypt

7. their behavior in the town hall meetings is seen for what it is - juvenile, uninformed, partisan,
racist.

They are so proud of their "speaking out" - but I really believe middle-America is tired of this approach. They are losing ground.

Their rush-limbaugh/sean-hannity approach is losing it's charm.

13. two different, independent things.
what middle-America sees when they watch these cretins and the Dems in congress/WH

I have confidence in middle-America recognizing these idiots for what they are. However, I do lack any confidence in having our reps(including the WH)do the right thing when it comes to healthcare. Hard to do the right thing for the citizens when all that money is being pushed into your pocket.

14. having middle-America recognize them for the idiots they are does
not at all mean the Dems will not cave.

I have full confidence both will happen.

Americans for the most part are not dumb. We are just represented by politicians more interested in lining their pockets than representing their constituents.

9. Stand up to them with facts
What I say is, "I read the bill and made up my own mind. Have you read it? No? Then come back when you have and we'll discuss it."

11. Yeah, that will work

Like they will trust someone who's read the bill over Limpballs.

Get back in the present. we will never beat them of we can't confront reality.

21. I have found they listen when I argue this way
I never say what my opinion on the bill is. I simply say I don't trust what "folks out there" are saying. Realize I live in the Ozarks, where folks are distrustful of outsiders. This helps with my argument (that and having lived here about 20 years).

15. There's only one way to stop a bully.
I don't care what the Brady Bunch taught you - you can't ignore them. You have to confront them at every turn, don't give them an inch of slack, and wear them out.

16. They will NOT go away, no matter how much you wish it to be so.
They were last out in force in the Clinton years. Maybe with some differences (we don't see many skinheads these days), but essentially the same types.

They went away when their boy Georgie came into town.

They'll go away only when we lose political power.

And as to the media .... hahahahaha ..... they OWN the media. Not directly. The media are owned by the people who find these people to be useful idiots.

So what has passivisim gotten us? No .... that is most assuredly not a call to arms. But we need to strongly stand up to them if for no other reason than to piss them off even more and to drown them out. We're not good at that, however.

17. In martial arts, you lose the match if you let anger overtake your reason.
We have to keep our cool and outmaneuver them. When FOX is taken down, and hate jocks are driven to the fringes, many of them will snap out of their stupor like a bad spell.

We have to represent the sane ones, and stay as calm as possible. Anger and Fear need an enemy, they are in a state of fight or flight and need to be calmed down in order to be reasoned with.

22. There was a time when the KKK thought they were winning
through extreme rhetoric, intimidation and murder.
And to the rest of the nation, it looked that way to for a while.
Didn't work out for them. The backlash destroyed what little influence they might have had.
