Does Ron reagan Jr. ever talk about what an awful president his father was?
I've been painting after work all week so I have been listening to his show in the evening.

I've always liked the guy. I like it even more that, coming from The Gipper's loins, it must drive the freepers nuts that he is a staunch liberal.

Has he ever dished on his pops?

1. Not that I've ever heard
He makes no secret that he disagreed with him on just about everything, but I've never heard him actually bash Daddy Ray-guns

2. Probably out of respect for his mom, he doesn't...
... but, who really knows?

Personally, I don't listen, as AAR doesn't appeal to me anymore.

5. That crossed my mind.
Maybe, when his mom passes, he'll disclose what he knows about the drool buckets and diapers during important national security and cabinet meetings.

12. That's a safe bet...
Since hindsight (America's inability to recall more than 30 years ago) may sell a few books for them.

I wonder if the Bush twins would ever get to the point of understanding what a complete failure in history has taken place.

3. Not Directly
He has criticized the policies and made
passing reference.

and I haven't heard it that I can remember. I thought I heard him say something against him and his policies back in the eighties or early ninties.

I always wait to see how he would respond if someone would call him and say something really harsh about his father relating to his policies if it has happened I may have missed it because his show is sometimes pre-empted by a basketball, football,or lately nascar..

6. He might be waiting for his mom to pass and then he can talk.
I would hate to have his name.

7. One gets the sense from Ron that he genuinely loved his father,
while hating his policies.

It's a fine line for him I think, how to critique one's father, who one loved, while still not falling into the realms of character assassination.

8. No, and I wouldn't expect him to.
He has said on several occasions that he differed with his father, but he loved and respected him.

10. Yes, that's a concept that doesn't appear to be too well understood here at DU.
Yes, I think he loved and respected his father as many children do even when they differ with their dads, and he would find no joy in bashing and trashing his father. Kind of like Ted Kennedy, he may just be a better person than many here at DU who live in a black and white world.

9. It's pretty clear, when you listen to him, that he differentiates the father he knew
and still loves, from the politician and policies. Not really surprising, and I respect him for how well he holds the two in tension, continuing to love a father who was good to him.
