To have a media that spoils for the fight and presents the hatred as if it is a legitimate, rational side to things - is just too much. Add a dash of lobbying money, the ultra rich scared shitless that they will have to see a few million less, and lifetime ineffective politicians whose only role in life seems to be getting reelected - and we end up with a country that is in deep, deep shit.
