Ten Amazing Performances from Sesame Street

http://www.gunaxin.com/ten-amazing-performances-from-se...

Johnny Cash, Bobby McFerrin, Tito Puente, James Taylor, Ethel Merman & Michael Jackson, Madeline Kahn, Billy Joel & Marlie Matlin, Paul Simon, Cab Calloway, and Stevie Wonder. Freaking Awesome!

All of the terrific videos can be found at the link. My favorites are Johnny Cash and Oscar singing "Nasty Dan," Billy Joel's Grouch version of "Just the Way You Are," and Stevie Wonder, sadly MJ doesn't perform.

1. I knew it! :)
When I read your thread title I thought of James Taylors Jelly Man Kelly.....I loved that when I was a kid! And JT is still my all time favorite!

3. It's awesome, although he looks just like Eddie Murphey in the video.
I never noticed just how much they look alike until now.

Eddie Murphy and stevie wonder ''My cherie amour'' (saturday night live):

8. That's Sesame Street, but for the Muppet Show...
You need to look for Harry Belafonte's appearance on it. I saw that as a child and remembered the closing number (with African mask muppets) with frightening accuracy when I finally saw it again after looking for it on YouTube. That big of an impression. Belafonte is a wonderfully, spiritual man who put in a great show. I also recommend just watching the whole episode where he does the Banana Boat song with constant interruptions from Fozzie and other Muppets, and his drum-off with Animal.

Speaking of Animal and drums, look for him accompanying Rita Moreno on, "Fever," when she hosted.

Edited on Sat Sep-05-09 01:11 AM by titoresque
I had bought my daughter a Sesame Street compilation video tape when she was about 2, this song was included. She loved that video so much. We wore it out. She's almost 18 now, this reminds me of that time.
Thanks for posting it! :hi:
