Are Republicans working Kubler-Ross' Five Stages of Grief?
For those who might need a refresher on Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross' "Five Stages of Grief": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Stages_of_Grief

Personally, I think that they ARE moving through Kubler-Ross' five stages of grief. I think that the Pubs went through the "denial" phase during the August Recess thinking that they could whip up enough anger to, in Senator Jim DeMint's words, "break" Obama and force him and the Dems to pull the plug on HCR and/or severely water it down.
When that didn't kill HCR or completely force Obama into submission, they moved into the "anger" phase by threatening to repeal anything passed if and when they ever regain control of Congress and threatening a flurry of procedural obstacles to passage.
Where are they now? Well, I think that they might be in the "bargaining" phase at the moment since they are now desperately claiming to want a *real* debate over Health Care Reform because Obama and the Dems are gearing up to pass something WITHOUT them but every Republican but Snowe it seems has dropped out of or will likely be dropping out of the negotiations before too long.
I have a feeling that it won't be too long before the Pubs reach the "depression" and "acceptance" stages of loss. At least, we can only hope.
Of course, if we end up getting meaningful health care reform passed and signed into law, providing them with quality affordable mental health services to help them get through their ongoing transition to irrelevancy should be no problem.

2. They are still in denial
Seriously. If 2010 and 2012 show them not taking power back, then they will enter anger. I think many in the GOP think 2006 and 2008 were aberrations, and if they just be conservative enough they can win back power. If that doesn't happen, then they will become violent. If you think right wing terrorism is bad now, wait until 2013.

3. The Repukes will never accept anything Dems want
What you forgot was the Dem reaction to the angry mobs. Dems have a strong tendency to submit to bullies instead of fighting them.

4. we have the Presidency and both houses of Congress
Yet the Republicans are keeping us from doing anything. Whatever they're doing works very, very well.

5. I bet you could put the Kubler-Ross stages on the * residency
I distinctly remember cycles of denial, anger, bargaining, and depression, with acceptance only happening for the last year or so and only among some members of the left.

7. Don't count on it. From what I'm hearing right now,
the health care we will get under the reform proposals will be so expensive, most American families won't be able to afford it at all.
