Make sure you start off the year by pissing off the teacher! I'm sure he or she will have ample opportunity to take it out on your kid throughout the year. Don't expect straight A's this year! Try home schooling, assholes.

23. Why not just
take them away from the parents? It's clear they are unfit to raise children if they have the wrong political view point, right? :eyes:

But, you stay classy. Keep the ideas coming.

5. +1
I can't believe the people advocating for teachers to punish kids for their parents' political views. They seem to have lost all sense that teachers are their to serve ALL the kids, not just the ones whose parents share our politics/race/religion/etc.

24. The only thing the kid would "learn" from that ...
... is that people will hate you for no fault of your own.

That's not the way to raise thoughtful, understanding, independent adults.

revenge by teachers against students are relatively new members here, for whatever that's worth. ;)

12. I prefer water for most fires
There's also CO2, Purple-K, it all kind of depends on the fire.

If you really think you can out-asshole a Republican loon you go right ahead. I don't think I'm up to it myself.

13. You would be amazed if you knew how many "home schooled" kids are basically
left to teach themselves and end up with little or no parental teaching. Just like Sara Palin's kids.

25. Indeed.
It's hard to grow into a thinking adult when you're raised by bigoted idiots. They need positive interactions outside their own families to grow up to be anything other than what their parents are.

17. You got it wrong. Now the Teachers know who to work with more.
With the parents identifying themselves as people willing to sabotage their children, teachers know who's going to need more help, effort, and attention...

Kind of like an IQ test, knowing who *needs* more attention means that teachers can be more effective in how they focus their energies.

21. Teachers will, rightfully, not punish the students because of the stupidity of the partents
We're trying to raise a better, smarter generation, and teachers don't give up on a student because the parents are idiots. Nor do we punish students because of the parents' stupidity. To imply, or even advocate otherwise simply shows your ignorance, and perhaps hostility towards the teaching profession.

27. Any teacher who thinks like you do should not be a teacher.
Taking it out on kids because they disagree with the parents?

You must hold teachers in extremely low regard somewhere above child molesters and below Healthcare CEOs

Thankfully I have NEVER met a teacher who thinks like you do. What is progressive about punishing a child for the actions of their parent?

28. Wednesday will provide a lovely opportunity for a 'teachable moment'
"Class, some of the children weren't here yesterday and missed President Obama's speech. Let's talk about what he said."
Teacher calls on Johnny, who is raising his hand. "He said we should do our homework, and doing our best is important!"
After a few more kids tell what the president said, the kids who were kept from hearing him speak will wonder why the heck their parents made such a fuss about it .
Later... "Mom and dad, why didn't you want me to know the president wants kids to try to do well in school?"

30. any Teacher who judges a student by their parent should be fired
and should be forced to look for a new profession.

Your entire premise is depressingly familiar, and ugly. I usually see it spouted by people who identify themselves as republican though.
