3. I've never seen one who is happy

I'm not an expert, but I've run into a few over the years. At least ones who stand out because their conversations make them obvious. I've found they have a tendency to be braggarts about their encounters with people they disagree with. There's a lot of relating of supposed conversations they have with some liberal or someone they disagree with. Invariably they relate they 'win' with some profound pronouncement that puts the other in his/her place.

I've even had subsequent conversations in which I very gently and persuasively give them the progressive point of view where they end up totally agreeing with me, yet the next time they talk to me they will relate the exact same original story with the exact same ending. They don't even remember the last conversation we had, much less that they already told me their fixed story.

They've made up their minds and facts will never serve to confuse them.

At any given moment, one freeper co-worker of mine is fighting with: the mailman, the paperboy, the neighbor kids, his brother-in-law, his mom, the irs, store clerks, waiters, his son's teacher, the school board, the homeowner's association, etc. That does not even count all the people in the office he can't deal with.

I actually enjoyed the late nineties era of Cafe Paranoia when they allowed a few dissenters into the fold there.

Lurker especially was a joy, telling me over and over that if I ever climbed any of his trees, he would shoot me. (They knew I nearly died being pulled from a tree sit doing a three story fall) And though I made friends with folks like lazamataz, Grandpa Dave, Farmfriend and others, it was inevitable I would be banned, and I was in may of 2001.
