Wingnuts and blaming the victim in health care
I've posted a couple of health care links on Facebook, and a couple of phantom freeper types chime in (who also happen to be physicians) saying something to effect, "well people need to take responsibility.I'm tired of people with their bling, sipping lattes, driving nice cars arguing about $20 copays. I'm sick of people not taking care of themselves" I've got a a few retorts in mind, but anything I could use to go straight for the jugular?

1. If they're arguing about co-pays they have insurance
So I don't get what the doctors' point is. If patients are raising questions about out-of-pocket costs they are showing good sense with their money IMO. You shouldn't just obligingly pay something without knowing why or whether its required of you.

2. It seems that wingers have this innate contempt for the less fortunate
not sure why that is. Excellent point about copays and the fact that they have insurance. Sort of a non sequitur on his part.

3. Indeed. It sounds as though these guys have a fairly affluent clientele
and are thus missing the point.

4. They don't believe in "personal responsibility." Nobody does.
That's why doctors carry medical malpractice insurance. They don't want to be "personally responsible" for any injuries they might cause while doing their jobs.

Like typical Republicans, they want personal responsibility for everyone but themselves.

As RFK said, the Republicans want socialism for the rich and capitalism for everyone else.
