1. The next step is to just admit it.....
Edited on Sun Sep-06-09 03:51 AM by Joe the Liberal
admit they are the fascist conservative propaganda arm of the republican party. Their bias is so obvious and wide open that anyone with half a brain can see it, this just further emphasizes that point.

We don't fight back. We're like helpless babies.

7. Why does Obama listen to Glenn Beck and Fox Noise but not to his liberal base?
If he listened to his base Geithner and Summers would be gone. If he listen to the liberals who got him elected, he would never have reappointed Bernanke. If he listened to his base, single-payer would still be on the table.

Obama now owns this administration. If the bush is responsible for 9/11, than Obama is responsible for what happens here on out.

So who exactly is Obama listening to?

9. Rahm
Edited on Sun Sep-06-09 06:44 AM by corpseratemedia
And Rahm is stuck in the '90's, and still sadly deluded into thinking that dismissing the base as "wacko liberals" like Clinton did will get magical bipartisanship. And of course Rahm and Obama will be able to get lots of $$$ for speeches and cushy corporate and foundation board positions like Clinton did after their first and only term ends.

I better hear "public option" in that speech or I'll know this admin will not accomplish anything for the people who elected him - maybe even screw us like clinton did with NAFTA.

14. So Obama's too WEAK and STUPID to think for himself? Is this RACIST or EXCUSIST?
Whichever - it's ridiculous.

16. you need to follow the sub-thread with exactly what's written and not infer what's not there
the poster asked "who does Obama listen to?" I answered "Rahm," because it was Obama who appointed him. He's from the Clinton Admin, and they joined in with the deifying of the "left."

The thread is about Fox news viewers, who hate Obama, and calling victory because Beck kept bringing Van Jones up.

Van Jones should have stayed. The administration should have taken a stand and NOT have caved to people who use Die Entartete Kunst to interpret art and freakishly connect Van Jones to fascism through the art at Rockefeller Center(NUTS!!).

It's Rahm who should have stepped down and Van Jones be appointed as Chief of Staff. You don't cave to the real Nazis who want the worst outcome for you.

And the reason why I mentioned that I need to hear "strong public option" in his speech is that I don't want Obama to be a corporatist caver like the DLCers - the public is getting a ton of contradictory information about it and potentially caving to insurance company interests. With Van Jones leaving under pressure from a RACIST, I'm losing my faith, but I want to be proven wrong!

And given my back round, and understanding exactly what Beck is doing, to write that I think Obama is weak or stupid or that I am a racist is outrageous.

8. Manufactured Noise...
A bright shiny toy. Here's a party and network totally out of power with little positive to offer that found something to do the happy dance about. It has no bearing on healthcare, nor the wars nor unemployment nor the price of tea in China. It means little except as something the corporate media gets to play with until the next shiny toy comes around.

Fox News and MSNBC enjoy ratings gains, but CNN drops
February 24, 2009 | 12:55 pm

With gloomy economic news dominating the headlines, Fox News and MSNBC posted substantial audience increases in the last four weeks compared to the same period last year, while CNN shed a large share of its audience.

Top-rated Fox News drew an average of 2.4 million viewers in prime time between Jan. 26 and Feb. 22, a spike of 28%, according to Nielsen Media Research data. CNN held onto second place with 1.2 million viewers but dropped 30% from last February, while MSNBC posted an average of 949,000 viewers, up 23%.

Part of CNN’s audience fall-off can be traced to the three presidential primary debates the network hosted last February, including one that drew 8.3 million viewers, greatly boosting its average rating for the month. But CNN also saw a drop-off for some of its signature shows in the last four weeks, underscoring the network’s challenge in sustaining the big numbers it scored during the 2008 election. “Anderson Cooper 360” lost 9% of its viewers compared to last February, while “Lou Dobbs Tonight” was off by 15%.

Meanwhile, its rivals enjoyed gains in the last month. Fox News host Glenn Beck’s new afternoon program doubled the viewership for the time period compared to last February. Bret Baier, who succeeded Brit Hume as the host of “Special Report” this year, has seen his show’s audience increase by 38%. And "Hannity," no long co-hosted by Alan Colmes, was up 38%.

For its part, MNSBC posted its best February in history. “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” was up 32%, while “The Rachel Maddow Show” brought in 134% more viewers than the time period had last year.

Still, Fox News programs dominated the ranking of the top 10 cable news shows, locking up every slot except seventh place, which was held by CNN’s “Larry King Live,” which gained 19% this month.

18. Let's Look At Those Numbers...
2.4 million viewers out of over 300 million people. That's less than 1% of the population. Or more specific...in the last election over 120 million people voted. That 2.4 million now adds up to 2% of those of voting age and interest. Dig into the numbers and you'll see more people are watching ESPN or Hanna Montana. Those numbers mean something to the corporates that have their money invested in getting eyeballs to watch, but it doesn't reflect a full picture of what people are thinking or saying...no matter how hard they try to say they do.

Much of the "news" on the cable is contrived...its meant to draw attention to itself through some controversy or "breaking story" or other gimmick. Faux is nothing but a gimmick. Yes it's swallowed by a vocal minority that are manipulated to create a "controversy" or outrage that is intended to keep eyeballs glued to the teevee. They don't care if they have to lie or distort, it's manufactured "news" that props up those numbers that in the bigger scheme of things are the haven of the 20% dead-enders that lose elections and any reasonable debate.

19. Well I have to hand it to the propaganda team
they have not only covered up crimes successfully for 8+ years, now they are able to convince people to speak out against their own interests. I wish I could say that is easy, it is not, it is skilled though, and systematic if you look at it over time.

Some people can be fooled most of the time.
