1. Bush had a few...
pre-screened pep rallies. If you don't care what people think, why bother to ask them?

2. That's because Republicans don't DO anything - except an occasional Nazi recruitment drive
The only purpose Republicans serve is to catapult propaganda designed to cow people into submission.

3. He had plenty of meetings - it just that people like me and you couldn't get tickets.
Couldn't get within a mile of the places to be honest about it.

5. My rep did. Rep Jim Ramstad in MN
And they were mostly boring as hell. We did have people get up to voice protest against the war in a respectful two-way conversation with him. A few of the "brain-washed" moaned, tsk'd and sighed about it, and some applauded in support of the protest, but no confrontations.

Having had attended past town hall meetings I knew immediately how bogus and obviously astro-turfed the current ones are. People who live in a community together don't usually act that asinine in front of each other. The trouble makers are bused in to ginned up behavior most people would never engage in on their own. Clearly no member of the media has ever been to a real town hall meeting.
