The speech... tomorrow and the reaction |
|
from certain quarters in the US.
To be honest it scares me... the pattern of a further radicalized group is here, for all to see.
I know i have said this before, but this is a civil war, and the coarsening of language continues. I am afraid of when it will become official and we will have the first actual shots, but it will not surprise me.
I know the hide head in sand brigade will tell me this is not happening... and it could never ever happen... but this is just getting worst. So you know, De NILE is not just a river in Egypt...
That is all.

1. Are there any specific parts of the speech you think will be subject to outrage? |
|
The prepared remarks have been released: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x8634352I don't know what parts they'll be upset with, but of course they will be upset. :patriot:

WARNING COARSE LANGUAGE TO FOLLOW
Read at your own risk
This is about the Negro or half breed for many of the people in that minority... it has really brought the racism in the US to the surface and has sent that group into a paroxysm. I do expect real, honest to goodness violence, before this Presidency is over. And it is all over race. Just not that he is a democrat, that is bad enough... but he is of a darker skin color and for these folks it matters.

4. Having early experiences with the racist elements of our country, I have to agree |
|
My parents were up against these elements from the time I was a young child. They worked in Memphis for the civil rights of all people. In those days the focus was mostly on civil rights for black people. The reactionary right has not changed. Their rhetoric is the same. Their moronic appeals to patriotism, Christianity, and freedom were exactly the same in those days. They have co-opted these words and ideas and bastardized them into something unrecognizable. They never left. The election of a black president brought them out of their holes. We can not let them win.

5. No we cannot, but some folks recoil at the use of the language |
|
But the language has to be confronted, that is the first step.
And thanks for the work back in the 60s, thank your parents for me

If she ran in 2012, half these idiots would gladly vote for Condoleeza Rice, and use that as the "I'm not racist" canard.

I listened to the speech before going to do errands and get coffee.
Very white murican was at the coffee shop I go to, (local place) and kept junior at home since he would not want kid'o to be exposed to this.
So I asked... did you READ the speech?
No.
You are aware this is about staying in school, doing their homework, and mostly it is up to them to be successful in school? We can give them the best, if the kids don't do the work won't matter.
Well I don't want that man telling anything to my son.
Is that because he is a Democrat or because he is a black man? And you do not want your son exposed to a black man in any position of authority?
Jaws flapped...
Out of Junior came the truth... dad does not like this N---r in the white house... that is the end of the country.
So I asked if a black republican woudl be acceptable?
He went into race superiority.
I told him that his son will grow up into a world where HE IS NO LONGER part of the majority. Better accept that reality... I added the little factoid that WE ALL CAME OUT OF AFRICA. That was it... he walked away with son... I just hope son does not have a hard time with that.
