I mean... there wasn't anything even sort of clever here. if anything, it managed to make "The Family Circus" look even more dull.

I think the root problem with conservatives is simply that they lack the "laugh" section of their brains. There should be a study.

4. I know Daryl. He's no nutjob.

He's a very talented guy who runs a cartoon syndication service which sell cartoons which reflect right AND left opinions from a variety of cartoons. Some are funnier than others, but I give him credit for being fair...most of the time. Like most of us, sometimes he misses the 100% mark. That doesn't make him a nutjob.
