NEW WORDS everyone should know
Edited on Tue Sep-08-09 05:15 AM by Tx4obama

In order to understand what is being said around the net these days it seems like us older folks need to brush up on our vocabulary and learn some new words.

Below are a few of the words that have emerged in the past few months, please feel free to reply and add any others that you can think of.

Hatriots = folks that all day long will say they are the 'real Americans', but spew hate all day long against anything that has to do with our President and government.

Birthers = folks that do not believe that President Obama was born in Hawaii and insist that he present 'his real birth certificate' although he has already done that. An interesting side not is that a poll was taken recently that showed that a good percentage of Americans do not know that Hawaii is one of the 50 states of the USA. Time for more money to be infused into the education system so that our children emerge with some brains in their heads, in my opinion.

Astroturfers = folks that would like for America to think that they are actually 'grassroots Americans' - coming out to protest on their own --- but they are actually people that have been organized/enticed by the Insurance Companies, Big Pharma, and/or right-wing radio and FoxNews to come out of the woodwork to defeat President Obama's Health Care Reform initiative and everything else that President Obama wishes to do.

912'ers = folks that follow the insane rantings of Glenn Beck. They have a bus caravan that has started in California that is going to travel across America and will arrive in Washington, D.C. on 9/12/09. They plan on staging a big protest march on the National Mall and they believe that on 9/12 they will 'take back America' -- just another lunatic fringe group that has forgotten that the majority of Americans elected Barack Obama to be our president.

Palinites = folks that THINK that Sarah Palin can do no wrong, always tells the truth, and has been chosen by God to take back America from the majority (Democrats) and to do 'God's work'. They really need some mental health consoling, in my opinion. If you read some of their comments on Palin's FaceBook page you would know what I mean. Her fans believe that God has chosen her to be their leader, that she is the 'only' one that has morals and values. They believe that she is the voice of America and that ALL U.S. Senators and ALL U.S. CongressPeople should be thrown out of office ASAP.

Truthers = folks who believes the US government (Bush/Cheney) had a hand in the 9/11 attack. Perhaps once someone can tell them how on earth Building No. Seven was flattened like a controlled demolition then they will give up their belief, but no one has ever explained why Building No. Seven fell, or why the owner of Building No. Seven said on TV on video that Building No. Seven was 'pulled'. ('PULLED' is a demolition term - that the owner said on TV in an interview while talking about 9/11!)

PUMAs= mostly women that were really pissed off that Hillary Clinton did not win the Democratic nomination. They were first only against Obama, then they turned their hatred against the whole Democratic Party including Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, The DNC, etc. The PUMA goal now is to bring DOWN the Democratic party.

I am sure I probably have forgotten to include one or two (that happens when you are up late on the computer and drinking rum & coke)... there seems to be new ones popping up each day lately, so please feel free to add to the list by replying to this post and let's keep an eye on them or at least have a good laugh as we watch the circus that has come to town!

2. Are Bachman supporters "Bachanalians" or "Bachman-aliens"?

As long as you know so much about the Twilight Zone, I figured you would know.

About Hawaii and the states, I still remember where I was when I first heard on the radio that Hawaii had become a state: Last year -- LOL -- actually, I was in the car (a 1958 Buick Special) and my mom was driving over the 61st street bridge over Offats Bayou in Galveston, Texas ... I was 7 years old.

3. I was born in ...
I was born in 1959

My first memory (that I can remember) in childhood was watching JFK's funeral with my grandmother... I was sitting on the floor watching the old black and white TV and grandma was sobbing. I can still hear those horse's hoofs clopping on the street in my ears.

As far as the Bachmann supporters - I just call them the 'bat shit crazy people', I do not know what they are officially called, perhaps they don't have a name as of yet, and I am not sure how many Bachmann supporters are actually out there ;)

Bachmann has asked her supporters to PRAY AND FAST to defeat Health Care Reform.

Bachmann has talked about slitting wrists and becoming 'blood brothers'.

Maybe they have all died from starvation and loss of blood ... we can only hope ;)

4. Oop, Also these three...
Tenthers = folks that are convinced that the 10th Amendment of the Constitution prohibits spending programs and regulations disfavored by conservatives

Deathers = folks that believe the disinformation about health care reform centers around the idea that reforming the for-profit health insurance system will actually kill people of all ages.

Teabaggers = these folks protest taxation WITH representation.
