Just posted this on my Facebook for the day.

Being as I'm living back in Georgia, and have a lot of my family on my Facebook, I've tried to stay away from anything political. But this crap with the President speaking to school children has just been to much. SOOOO, my Facebook status for today is:

If my little girl comes home from school and can't properly tell me why we are in a class struggle against the bourgeoisie, I will be SORELY disappointed in the President.

2. For real.
Edited on Tue Sep-08-09 08:19 AM by malmapus
One of my friends from HS who is level headed tried to start a discussion with his friends, being as he couldn't understand, about why some of his friends who are parents were thinking of keeping their kids home. One of his friends responded how she was, "afraid for the Constitution". It was ALL I had to stay out of there, instead I just posted a rant in my Notes lol.

5. It's amazing the constitution survived
Considering my die-hard Democratic parents wanted me to watch all Presidential speeches, including those of Nixon, Ford, and Reagan; because we are citizens of the United States and we need to be aware of what is going on.

What a distructive attitude they had! Being open minded and not living in fear of other ideas is so anti-American :sarcasm:

3. My "status" from yesterday
Here's my FB status from Sunday:

"Well after surfing the web for super-top secret beyond the reich wing stuff, I have come to the conclusion that the President's speech to kids is a problem, not the words of the speech but the transmission from his Zeta Reticule brothers that will silently accompany it. It's about Roswell, I hate to tell you but they are still pissed!"

I am also living in a red state. I like making fun of idiots because a backlash of anger they enjoy, being made to look like tin-foil hat kooks they do not.

9. It really helps me let the steam off
I would rather laugh at ignorance than rage at it (which I am too prone to do). I get a lot less heartburn.

8. Here is a reply I wrote about the prez's Speech:
If the president can spend 15 minutes and mess up your kids and their ideals I guess that means there are a LOT of weak parents out there who don't have an influence with their kids.

What a bunch of whiners.

10. I ripped it off!
And put it on my facebook.

But, in the interest of fair use, I changed "little girl" to "granddaughter." (I always go for verisimilitude.)

Thanks for posting.

13. I posted on mine:
If encouraging our children to stay in school, study hard and succeed has now become “indoctrinating and brainwashing” our kids and threatening our way of life, I say we need more of this radicalism….Just who does this guy think he is, anyways-the President?

15. ****The conversation on the way home from school today****
Conversation with my daughter (G) on the way home from school. S is my wife.

Me: G, did you get to see the President today?
G: Yes. *with an excited voice*
S: Did he have an important message to tell you about his socialist ideals?
M: Did he read to you the Communist Manifesto with Hypnotoad on his shoulder?
G: Did he who to the what now?
S: Well what did he say?
G: I don't remember everything he said, he talked a lot.

I LOVE the attention this got from whacked out right wing parents who got a lot of TV and air time to show the dummies that they are. Granted my daughter is only in 1st grade and wouldn't have caught on to a lot of his message I guess. But still, this is a girl who was dancing around the house and shouting "Obama" the day after election when we told her who won.
